Default #1 Pick: AP vs Burner Turner

You can make a valid argument for taking either Adrian Peterson or Michael Turner #1 overall. Which guy would you take if you had the #1 pick? Or feel free to suggest another player if you have somebody else in mind.

I personally like Turner better. I just feel more comfortable with him because he has Matt Ryan, Roddy White, and Tony Gonzalez to stop teams stacking the box against him. And he has Jerious Norwood, who is good enough to keep Turner from getting overworked, but not quite a carry or TD vulture

AP, on the other hand, doesn't have a QB (even if they get Favre), has a mediocre WR corps around him, and has Chester Taylor to vulture carries and TD's. And although he hasn't had many injuries, he still has to be considered an injury risk.

I think I'd stick with AP over Turner. True, Turner does have a solid team to spread things out a bit. There's a lot of hype around Percy in Minnie though which could also spread things out. Coaches are also saying that they are going to reduce Turner's load a bit to keep him fresh.

I personally am leaning towards liking MJD over both guys. MJD will finally be the man in Jax and he put up pretty decent #'s last year with Freddy still there and a sham of an O-Line. With a re-built O-Line and the style of football Del Rio likes to play, I am thinking MJD is the #1 back going into the season

im not jumping of ap bandwagon yet...i think we heave yet to see his full td potential and this will be the yr we see that. i worry about mjds durability...i think he's too small to endure a workload of 350 or so carries and the loss of fragile fred overhypes him a bit...

AP has 2,000 yard potential this year IMO. 3rd year and you have to think he's much better. I know the schedule is rough at times, but he's also the best player arguably in the game so I think he can manage.

I would take him especially since Atlanta is going to be more balanced this year.

Matt Ryan's development is key here though if Atlanta is to be more of a 50-50 team.

Well I am starting to like MJD as the top guy (specially in ppr leagues) but let me state for the record I still like AP as the #1 player. but I have MJD #2 ahead of Turner

MJD in PPR league for sure. If not a PPR league I'd go AP.

I agree. The defense will not be able to load up on the line at the snap of the ball. Favre gives Minnesota instant passing threat credit and makes AP the number one pick overall!
