Default What's all the fuss about Gabriel??

I am the only one not seeing it with this guy? In 2+ seasons (granted with the Raiders) he's never shown he's anything more than JAG. And NE underBelichick has never thrown to a goto receiver. Not even Branch. It's not their system, and one of Brady's strengths is spreading the ball around. So what makes people think things are suddenly gonna be any different with Gabriel?

Someone please enlighten me.

I'm kind of wondering the same thing. I have Gabriel and I was trying to get rid of him the first 2 weeks . Now it seems like everyone wishes they had him, and I'm reluctant to get rid of him.

In the Preaseason in OAK he impressed Shell enough to become the #2 guy in OAK. Granted, Porter wasn't an option. Then after the Branch situation, Gabriel was shipped out. He was worthless the first few weeks but many picked him up in anticipation of him putting up Branch-like numbers, which would be a solid #2 or #3 wide receiver for many teams. Now it seems that Gabriel is actually building a rapport with Brady and Brady seems to be gaining some confidence in throwing to his new receiver. Hence, the reason why people want him so much.

No. But he's a great option as a bye week sub at this point until things heat up in NE.
