Going Back and Forth

Going back and forth as to my draft strategy for my 10 team keeper league...

We have 2 keepers, mine are Peyton Manning and Andre Johnson, I finished 2nd last year so i have the 9th pick (the draft doesn't snake until the 4th round) so I have the 9th pick in eaach of the first 3 rounds...heres my thinking

I am targeting taking Reggie Wayne in round 1 to get the Manning/Wayne combo, my thinking is all of the top RBs are being kept and all the other RB;sare pretty even IMO. I am wondering if there are any backs left I should target in round 1 instead of Wayne. Here is the list of the top available RBs and WR after keepers were announced this weekend...

Any thoughts on my strategy for rounds 1-3

I would wait and see what is available before you make a decision, you might be surprised. There will probably be at least a better WR option than Wayne when it gets down to you. I don't know about the RBs being any better though. Here's the thing, I've never been much of a fan of the QB-WR combo, as it is hit or miss. A more spread out consistent team will win more close games than a hot or not team. You may get bigger blowouts on occasion but less wins.

What's scary is that I am in almost the exact same boat as you. I am going to keep Manning, A. Johnson and I have the choice of keeping Wayne over Barber and Brown in a 3 keeper league. I am strongly leaning towards keeping Wayne. It is a little scary because it way different than anything I have ever done. I am going to keep Wayne because he is a highly consistent receiver and those are hard to get. I think if Jacobs would get to you, you would have to at least think about it though.

i like wayne more than all those rbs. i'd shoot for wayne or calvin...if not then look for jacobs or brown
