Ball St. is going to be very good. I don't think they'll make the BCS even if they go undefeated, though. They don't play a good enough non-conference schedule. Indiana is the most notable squad on their schedule. I think they beat the Hoosiers, but is that really that impressive. Beating Central Michigan would be a bigger accomplishment.
Love Nate Davis. His production will be huge. I'd take Dan Lefevour over him though. I think Ball St. is the second best team in the MAC. I can't see them winning it, though. Central Michigan stands out to me too much.

Heck, could be East Carolina to the BCS. All the way up to #14 after 2 impressive wins.

I called ECU's win over Va. Tech. I didn't see them beating WVU.
If the Pirates finish undefeated and there are not two undefeated BCS schools, I think they could end up in the national championship game.

FOX Sports on MSN - COLLEGE FOOTBALL - The story ESPN doesn't want you to know
An amazing article. Pretty much sums up what our University has gone through. Not a single person on this forum has an clue what this accomplishment means to this school. Yeah, go ahead and bitch about what the hell you want to about this football team. There undefeated and still overlooked. Jason Whitlock tells it how it is.
Anyone who trys to discredit what Ball State has done this year does not have a clue about the Ball State, the MAC, or even college football in general for that matter. The players on this team are our classmates and our friends, not strangers to the school like you Big12, SEC, and ACC schools. Our classmates went 12-0, undefeated when no one beleived we even had a chance.
You should have been at this game. Amamzing. Go Ball State! 12-0! Perfect-O

I believe several thought Ball State had a chance to go undefeated this season. The team was on my radar. I predicted them with two losses I believe.
Playing in the conference Ball State does hampers them. Sorry. But it's true. The only other team I consider a legitimate threat to a major conference is Central Michigan. That's what keeps them out of the BCS. Utah's resume is more impressive. I think one can argue against Boise State, which I'm less impressed with.
Here's where I disagree with Whitlock about ESPN. The only reason Ball State was on television was because of ESPN's commitment to airing college football on an almost nightly basis. This wasn't the case even 3 years ago. I mean it was a Tuesday night game in prime time when there were no other football games for Ball State to compete against.
In fact, it's ESPN's dedication to airing the games that has helped Ball State on a recruiting front. The television exposure covering all of college football is one of the reasons there is more parity in the game than ever before.
Sadly, Whitlock never writes this column if he wasn't fired by ESPN. It was a situation he was just as guilty in as the other party was.
I've never cared for Whitlock. He's far too bitter, far too much of the time. ESPN isn't the first job he was run off from either.
Back to the point, congrats to Ball State. As far as your bitterness to the rest of the sporting world, I'm sorry. It's one thing to be proud. It's another to think everyone was against you, which is far from the truth.
BTW, Nate Davis is a legitimate late first round pick right now in the draft. And the whole if he was from USC argument is weaker than it's ever been. A sub-division player was taken in the first round last season.
There is a bias in college football, but it's less than it has been in a long time.
You definitely should feel proud of your school and team. But don't be bitter towards those who you say told your team it couldn't have success.

All the na-sayers just like yourself will always find a way to discredit this.
I look at the fact that we have 1 penalty in our last 4 games. Thats how great teams play.
I look at the fact that we have 1 turnover in our last 4 games. Thats how great teams play.
I look at the fact that we beat 2 top 30 teams the last 2 weeks, one game being away. Thats how great teams play.
I look at the fact that we lost arguably our best player in our forth game and played the final 8 games with heavy hearts. Thats how great teams play.
And I love the fact that no one beleived we could do it.
And I can be as bitter as I want to. We were against "your odds" and ended up undefeated. I have every right to be bitter. We have earned it.
Chirp! Chirp!

Yep. Cause I was all about nay-saying and discredited everything Ball State did...
That's exactly what I said.
You want to believe everyone was against your team apparently. It wasn't nearly that bad.
