Something else I realized is that I heavily underrated WVU's defense. They've been very impressive. If White doesn't get hurt against Pitt, they're playing in the national championship.

The 3 BCS games so far. Blowouts. I expected the first one, and was wrong on the second one. I thought West Virgina losing their coach would have them lose the game, but I guess not. White, Slaton, and Devine next year as well. I would not want to be a Big East defensive coordinator headed into next season.

I called it in this column. I said the BCS would let us down after a great start to the bowl season. I'm a fan of the bowl system. I'm one of the biggest supporters of it you guys will probably ever meet. I see a lot of benefits in it. However, how they pick the BCS teams and matchups has to be fixed.

The Rose Bowl screwed this whole thing up. Had they just selected the better team instead of being insistent upon its dumb tradition, we'd have seen USC vs. Georgia. But no, Big 10 vs. Pac 10 is how it's supposed to be. That's just idiotic. Thank you Rose Bowl for tainting what could've been one of the most memorable bowl seasons.

Momentum is a funny thing in football. The worst thing that can happen to any team is for their opponent to get out to a big, early lead. That's what happened to OU and that's what happened to Va. Tech. Both teams came close to recovering the early onslaughts, but could never take that last step to winning the game. It's just something that's hard to overcome at any level of football.

It was nice to see a good game finally in the BCS and I guess all doubters now have to resign to the fact that Kansas belongs. That was a great Va. Tech team the Jayhawks just beat. Although I don't know that any player had a worst bowl game performance than Sean Glennon.
