Default National Signing Day

I think the consensus #1 recruiting class has gone to Florida or USC.

USC signed the top 3 recruits on ESPN's top 150 including the top 2 RBs in the country in Joe McKnight and Marc Tyler. ILB Chris Galippo was the other of the top 3 recruits.

Florida signed 2 of the top 10 QBs in the country (John Brantley and Cameron Newton) and had a total of 13 players who were ranked in the top 10 nationally at their position.

My favorite recruit?

Ryan Tannehill, QB, Big Spring, TX - His dad was one of my coaches in high school and I've known Ryan since he was 8 or 9. He signed with Texas A&M. He was the 35th nationally ranked QB.

Lennon Creer, RB, Tatum, TX - Creer easily led Tatum to a Class 2A state title. He signed with Tennessee today. He's got great speed/size ratio and will be a great college RB in my opinion. He was the 8th ranked RB nationally.

yeah USC and Florida's classes were sick.

I am still pissed that Ronald Johnson went to USC over Michigan... Ronald is the #8 overall prospect in Rivals rankings as a WR/CB and I watched him played live 2 times this year and let me tell you WOW this guy is gunna be special... still idk how Michigan didnt get him.

Ryan Mallett I am excited about though, a cannon for an arm, #4 overall prospect in Rivals and should learn under Henne this year and be ready in 2008.

also Donovan Warren from Long Beach Poly is a name to remember, he is a lock down corner that reminds me of Champ Bailey a little.

Reggie Bush is just killing USC lately with NCAA violations. I hate the NCAA though. They pick and choose who they want to pursue and for whatever reason, they've decided to attack Bush and USC. I'm sure several former players called prospective scouts during this recruiting period. Why do they only go after Bush and USC? Publicity...that's why. The NCAA is one of the worst and greediest organizations in the country.

I like Junior Hemingway the WR Michigan signed out of Conway, SC. I watched some film on him and was incredibly impressed. He's got great size and hands.

How about most surprising signing classes?

North Carolina's class is really impressive. Butch Davis is a master recruiter and is showing that already in his short tenure there. UNC will be a football threat for the 1st time since Mack Brown was their coach within 2 seasons. He was able to keep most of the state's top prospects in state and stole several of them from schools like Florida and Notre Dame. You're doing something great if you can steal recruits from Urban Meyer. He got a top tier QB in Mike Paulus, who might be the starter as a true freshman. Paulus' brother Greg is the point guard for Duke. That's going to cause a bit of a family rivalry. I'd hate to be at that dinner table.

Illinois also had a great class. Ron Zook was a great recruiter at Florida. He just couldn't seem to turn those recruits into great teams. Illinois went 2-10 and still landed the top DE in the country, Martez Wilson. I watched film on him and he could end up contributing as a true freshman. He's a great athlete and played WR in high school. He's actually got great hands. I don't think WR or TE is out of the question for him from what I saw of him on film. Zook then stole DT D'Angelo McCray from his former employer. McCray is one of the most athletic DTs I have ever seen. He played TE in high school too, but he's listed as 290 lbs. He was fun to watch film on.

yeah your right, he is good too I hear havent saw film on him yet but he should be good, also Toney Clemons from PA is the cousin of former Michigan WR Steve Breaston, should be better than Breaston from what I hear so I am looking for big things outta him.

I'm looking forward for next years Michigan team.
Maybe we will force Carr to retire and actually develop our talent that we recruit.

Lookin for a win over the buckeyes and a Nat'l Championship
