Default Mitch Mustain

I was just watching Sportscenter, and read on the bottomline, that according to a station in Arkansas that Mitch Mustain is leaving the team. It did not say where he planned to transfer or why the reason, but I just thought it was interesting and possibly a good topic for discussion.

Well...he had a terribly disappointing freshman season considering he was the top QB prospect in the country last year. Personally, I liked Matt Stafford more before the season started.

I agree, his season didn't live up to the hype. However, that offense is a run-based offnse and they didnt have alot of targets to even throw too. Other than Marcus Monk, they were a pretty weak recieving corps.

Word around on Ben Maller.com is that Mustain is looking at Tulsa as a potential place to go. His old H.S. coach took a coaching posistion there and could possibly make Mitch lean that way...but who knows. We'll just have to see.

He hates Houston Nutt.

That's why he went to Arkansas in the first place. Arkansas hired his high school coach as an offensive coordinator then didn't use his system because of McFadden. Mustain is just determined to follow his high school coach anywhere evidentally.

Exactly.

I can't wait to see Mustain at Tulsa.

That's what I'd guess.

According to a report on ESPN, Mustain has a list of 3 potential schools.

Tulsa- He visited there but wasn't offered anything or didn't come out and say thats where he wanted to be.

UTEP- Jordan Palmer is leaving, and maybe he can be groomed to be another Mike Price QB

Texas Tech- I think this would be a good place for him. He can sling the ball around and fit in well.

The report did say that Mustain, contrary to most our beliefs, isint tied to the hip of his old H.S. coach.....so Tulsa isint a slam dunk......yet.

We'll see what happens

Texas Tech would be a bad spot. Their QB situation is fairly crowded. They have too many on the roster as it is. Tulsa or UTEP would be much better for him. I think he needs to fall out of love with his high school coach and move on without him. He's killing any prospects at a future in the pros if he doesn't go into a system besides his high school coach's.
