I've got another addition I'd like to put on peoples minds.
What about Colt McCoy? I know it sounds a little stupid, him a freshman and hardly any hype towards him, but look at what hes done. Hes beaten every single team except #1 Ohio State, set the Texas record for touchdown passes in a season, second in country in passer rating. Hes on pace to shatter the NCAA record for freshman touchdown passes. Just look at his stats compared to the other top QB Heisman Hopefulls-
Colt McCoy
170 Att 246 Comp %69.1 2,051 yards 27 touchdowns 4 interceptiions
Colt Brennan, QB Hawaii
248 340 72.9 3,347 39 5
Brady Quinn, QB Notre Dame
216 338 63.9 2,579 25 4
Troy Smith, QB Ohio State
158 237 66.7 2,006 22 2 53 206 3.9 1

I agree I was thinking about McCoy. I really like Ray Rice too after what he did last night

I have Colt McCoy #3 on my list. If you read the articles on the Jungles front page I have a Heisman Watch I write. McCoy is behind Quinn and Smith on mine and I think I'm going to move Rice to #4 since now Rutgers has my attention and now I'll admitt they are far better than first thought.
For #5 it comes down to how P.J. Hill and Mike Hart play. I think both can make fair cases for a Heisman Invite. I also think their are a bunch of Quarterbacks like Nate Longshore and John David Booty that are all in the thick of things. Slayton can really rebound if he has a great game against Rutgers.
Right now though I think Smith, Quinn, and McCoy are probably on their way to New York with Rice closing in.

I have been saying that Rice deserves more Heisman recognition for a while now and with his game last night it looks like he is starting to become a serious canidate which he should be.

I really like PJ Hill, I know he won't win it this year, but I can see him winning it in the future.

Hill has had a great year, but playing on a team that really hasnt played anybody (beside Michigan) hurts him

They also get Iowa this week. I don't know how you can say Ray Rice deserves Heisman Hype and say Hill hasn't played anyone. I believe Penn State is tougher than any D that Rutgers has played. Personally I think Hill is #5 right now and Rice is #4. Hill is proven but his down fall is he isn't in the spotlight and with Rutgers playing primetime on Thursday and now a big game against West Virginia, Rice will see a lot of spotlight. Hill will get the 11 am game shown in the mid west.

Thats exactly what I meant about the big games and the spotlight. I know he's proven and he's played tough D's, but thats not what the Heisman is about its about Hype. Hill has none of it. Hes working in obscurity. Its like someone on the Royals hitting .430. Would anyone even notice? It's sad but thats the way it works
