Default Mock Draft

Probably not, but what the heck...

1. Houston Texans-Reggie Bush-RB-USC
The obvious pick.

2. New Orleans Saints-Matt Leinart-QB-USC
Young will be a work in progress so leinart is the safer pick- (although Young will sell tickets).

3. Tennessee Titans-Vince Young-QB-Texas
Will be able to set and learn under mcnair.

4. New York Jets-D'Brickshaw Ferguson-OT-Virginia
Will help keep pennington healthy-(if hes there) and help curtis martin wrap up a great career.

5. Green Bay Pakers-Mario Williams-DE-North Carolina State
Rumor has it that KGB is on the way out so the team will need a replacement.

6. Oakland Raiders-A.J. Hawk-LB-Ohio State
Somebody else has already said it on the forum, but seeing hawk in an oakland uniform would be pretty cool.

7. San Francisco 49ers-DeAngelo Williams-RB-Memphis
Gore has a history of injury problems and cant be relield upon...Hicks is just a good backup...barlow hasnt lived up to expectatons and is injured often

8. Buffalo Bills-Haloti Ngata-DT-Oregon
Team needs a big man in the middle that can stop the run, thus helping out the underrated LB core of the team

9. Detroit Lions-Michael Huff-S-Texas
Although they acquired Kennedy last year, the other S spot is up in the air. Huff can play that position and help out at the sopt oppisite of Bly.

10. Arizona Cardinals-Vernon Davis-TE-Maryland
Teams has needs elswhere but ignoring the talent and upside of Davis will be difficult. Yes, they already have Johnson, Boldin, and Fitzgerald, but after Warner is gone, a young QB will be able to step in and win right away. Coach may not be wanting to give up on J.J. Arington yet, so they stick with him, or pick a RB up in FA.-rumors are that the team is interested with Shaun Alexander, but they'll never get him- Regarding the D, the Cardinals got good production from Rolle (although he was injured) and Eric Green last year at corner. D-line and O-line are a need, but no offensive or defensive lineman should go this high.

11. St. Louis Rams-Jimmy Williams-CB-Virgina
The secondary needs major help. When you play the Cardinals and the Seahawks twice a year, a good secondary is a major need.

12. Cleveland Browns-Chad Greenway-LB-Iowa
The team has a decent secondary. There needs are at the defensive line and linbackers. Crennel will want a young LB that serves as the "face" for the team. Offensive line is also a need but this may be a little high for Justice or McNeil. I can also see Tambi Hali going here. The Browns need a pass rusher on the end.

13. Baltimore Ravens-LenDale White-RB-USC
Its just a question of when will Jamal Lewis be gone, so they take a very similar back with White. He could share the load with Taylor and they would compliment each other quite well.

14. Philadelphia Eagles-DeMeco Ryans-LB-Alabama
The team needs help with the LB's so Ryans would be a good pick. He a solid tacker and most likely contribute right away.

15. Atlanta Falcons-Tambi Hali-DE-Penn State
Team needs depth at the DE and Hali is just right guy. Could come in and help force pressure off the end yet at the same time be able to stop the run.

16. Miami Dolphins-Jay Cutler-QB-Vanderbilt
The Dolphins would be thrilled if Cutler fell this far. Somehow, after an inconsistane Senior Bowl his stock has rised. However, Cutler could succeed in Miami since the team is already close to making the playoffs anyway.

17. Minnesota Dolphins-Laurence Maroney-RB-Minnesota
If Minnesota is unable to re-sign their team of RB's they are left with Moore and Fason. Maroney is the home-state kid and could definatley sell tickets. Besdies that, he is a great football player and could fit nicley into the Minnesota scheme.

18. Dallas Cowboys-Winston Justice-OT-USC
The right-side of the Cowboys line gave up the most sacks in the league last year, though some of that can be blamed on Bledsoe. Justice can possibly play either T position and help the pass and run game.

19. San Diego Chargers-Darnell Bing-S-USC
Helps this under achieving secondary of the Chargers. He'll be picking Jake Plummer off for years-(makes me mad as a Denver fan)

20. Kansas City Cheifs-Gabe Watson-DT-Michigan
Watson is a huge, big, gigantic man any could play next top Simms and maybe make him look better. The Chiefs will need to stop the run when you play Tomlimson, Anderson/Bell, and Jordan twice a year.

21. New England Patriots-Manny Lawson-DE/OLB-North Carolina State
McGeinest is 35 years old, but still playing well. However, Lawson could come in and play oppisite of McGeinest and play both on the line and at the LB position.

22. Denver Broncos-Sontonio Holmes-WR-Ohio State
Rod Smith had a great season-(although he had more yards recieving and TD's last year and didnt make the Pro-Bowl) and Lelie can make great plays when givin the opportunity. However, Smith is getting old and Lelie has his days. Plus, Darius Watts has been an absolute bust and Todd Devoe and Davis Terrell arent the answer for the third WR.

23. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Marcus McNeil-OT-Auburn
Has the knowledge of blocking for Williams in college and would be very fimilar with how he runs. Will also be able to play the RT position very well, a place of injury to the Bucs this last year.

24. Cincinnati Begals-Broderick Bunkley-DT-Florida State
The Bengals need a big run stuffer just as bad as teh Chiefs do. This was one of few weaknesses on the D. S is the other possible choice, but Bing is gone and Simpson may be a gamble here.

25. New York Giants-Antonio Cromartie-CB/S-Florida State\
I relize I have Cromartie before Hill, but the Giants are in need of a S more that a CB. Cromartie can do both with his great size at 6'3" so his dual purpose puts him ahead of Hill for this team, but probably not others.

26. Chicago Bears-Lenard Pope-TE-Georgia
Any offensive weapon that can be brought in should be done. Grossman or Orten will need someone to pass too, though Muhammed and Bradely are already nice options. Pope has a much larger upside than Clark and brings in pass and run blocking.

27. Carolina Panthers-Mercedes Lewis-TE-UCLA
I really like Lewis, though his stock seems to be dropping. Lewis will make another option besides Smith for Delhomme to throw too. WR is also likely to play opposite of Smith, but Lewis will be able to help block, though this is a weakness for him, but could help Foster be even more of a monster running on the outside.

28. Jacksonville Jaguars-Tye Hill-CB-Clemson
The Jaguars cant belive that Hill has fallen this far. There are chances that San Diego would take him at 19. Hill would play opposite to Mathius and would ensure that the Jaguars have another good chance to make the playoffs again. I can easily see Jacksonville winning the AFC South next year.

29. Denver Broncos-Ko Simpson-S-South Carolina
Simpson is a project but who better to work with him than the Denver coaches and learn under Lynch, although he is a different type of S. Simpson could play opposite of Lynch and defend the pass very well, which Nick Ferguson did pretty well at, though he is getting old-(think he is 30)

30. Indianapolis Colts-Ashton Youboty-CB-Ohio State
We'll see how the offseason emerges for the Colts. O-line and RB could be very possible. For now, the Cotls could spend two straight first rounders on CB's, which would make a very young, but very talented secondary.

31. Seattle Seahawks-Roderique Wright-DT-Texas
The Seahawks will need a big run stuffer if Rocky Bernard is not back next year.

32. Pittsburgh Steelers-Mathius Kiwanuka-DE-Boston College
The only position that the Steelers struggled at was getting pressure on the QB from there DE's. The LB's were great, but von Oelhoffen(35 years old) and Smith(30) may not be the answer.

Round 2....

33-1. Houston Texans-John Scott-OT-Texas

34-2. New Orleans Saints-Thomas Howard-LB-UTEP

35-3. Tennessee Titans-Bobby Carpenter-LB-Ohio State

36-4. New York Jets-Brodie Croyle-QB-Alabama

37-5. Green Bay Packers-D'Qwell Jackson-LB-Maryland

38-6. San Francisco 49ers-Ryan O'Callgahan-OT-California

39-7. Oakland Raiders-Cluade Wroten-DT-LSU

40-8. Buffalo Bills-Eric Winston-OT-Miami(FL)

41-9. Detroit Lions-Charles Spencer-OG-Pittsburgh

42-10. Arizona Cardinals-Brian Calhoun-RB-Wisconsin

43-11. St. Louis Rams-Anthony Fasno-TE-Notre Dame

44-12. Cleveland Browns-Orien Harris-DT-Miami(FL)

45-13. Baltimore Ravens-Kelly Jennings-CB-Miami(FL)

46-14. Philadelphia Eagles-Matin Nance-WR-Miami(OH)

47-15. Atlanta Falcons-Daryn Colledge-OT/OG-Boise State

48-16. Miami Dolphins-Sinorice Moss-WR-Miami(FL)

49-17. Minnesota Vikings-Jeremy Trublood-OT-Boston College

50-18. Dallas Cowboys-Greg Blue-S-Georgia

51-19. San Diego Chargers-Derek Haden-WR-Arizona State

52-20. Kansas City Chiefs-Chad Jackson-WR-Florida

53-21. New England Patriots-Nate Salley-S-Ohio State

54-22. Washington Redskins-Tatusi Lutui-OG-USC

55-23. Tampa Bay Bucaneers-Jason Allen-S-Tennessee

56-24. Cincinnati Bengals-Donte Whitner-S-Ohio State

57-25. New York Giants-Kari Parham-LB-Virginia

58-26. Chicago Bears-Jonathan Joseph-CB-South Carolina

59-27. Carolina Panthers-Maurice Jones-Drew-RB-UCLA

60-28. Jacksonville Jaguars-Abdul Hodge-LB-Iowa

61-29. Denver Broncos-Nick Mangold-OC-Ohio State

62-30. Indianapolis Colts-Joseph Addai-RB-LSU

63-31. Seattle Seahawks-Kimeron Wimberly-DE-Florida State

64-32. Pittsburgh Steelers-Maurice Stovall-WR-Notre Dame

I don't think Wimbley is a Day 2 guy. I think you have him in the right spot only I think he has to go to a 3-4 defense to be an OLB. He's only a pass rushing 4-3 DE because he's very light. He would only play on passing downs and that makes him less valuable to a 4-3 team. A pick lower to the Steelers would be ideal.

Jackson is a 1st rounder to most on the forum I think. Having him far further than Nance and Hagan is too far. Both of those guys are 3rd rounders to me. Nance is more of a 3rd rounder than Hagan. I know a lot of guys like him, but he's slow and doesn't run great routes for a possession receiver.

Nate Salley in a Day 2 prospect. He isn't very fast and has stiff hips. He's a real liability in pass coverage. I also think Jason Allen slips to round 3 cause of his injury although I have seen him in round 2 in many mocks.

I have Byrd in the first round in my mock, but at least put him in the second. he is ranked, by most in this forum, higher than lewis, and almost the same as Pope, i personally like him better than pope, but i dont think scouts do...

Jackson is for sure either a 1st rounder, or a top 5 2nd round pick, at latest. i would think that most people in this forum would agree.

intersting about Drew, never knew that.

love the Panthers picks, the shot of offense would be great to a team onsistent on spending all its money on defense and o-line.
