Default Play GM..

Would you trade up for Leinart, or let the best player fall to you. If you are the GM, what are your pressing needs. What would you do if you are Detroit. Tell me if you would hit free agency hard, who you would attack. Lets hear it.

if I were the Detroit Lions,... I would trade up for Leinart. He's a proven winner, he'll reuinte with M.Williams, and he knows how to manage a game. Offensive Lineman in the second round and secondary in the third. As far as free agency...if you stay where you're at in the draft go after someone like Brees if SanDiego decides to stick with Rivers. Than O-Line (Jonathan Scott) in the first round, second round S Michael Huff if available or Laron Landry from LSU.

First off Matt Millen should be gone from there. Giving him an extension is the worse move I've ever seen maybe.

As for what I would do. Well the talent is there. Roy Williams and Mike Williams look to be a great duo. I would try to trade Charles Rogers for a 2nd round pick. I know it hurts but he's young and talented and get rid of him while Detroit can get something. I would cut Joey Harrington. I would keep Garcia around another year.

As for the draft, I would try to get in the Phillp Rivers mess. Trade a 1 to the Chargers to get him. If not Rivers maybe a 2nd rounder to the Falcons for Matt Schaub. Those are two guys I really like. If Houston cuts David Carr I wouldn't mind giving him a chance though I would prefer Schaub or Rivers. There's to much talent on the offense to put it in a rookie QB's hand. Find a veteran and this team could take the next level.

If I ended up keeping my first rounder I would either take Omar Jacobs or Matt Leinart. Though that would be my last step because Schaub,Rivers, and maybe Carr would be my first targets. I like Ngata or Wright in the first round as DT's. If Ngata comes out I think I would go with him because of his massive size. Wilkerson is getting older and probably won't hold up much longer. 1 of the Big 4 offensive lineman might be a good option as well. Ferguson, McNeil, Scott, and Winston. This draft is got a lot of depth on the offensive line so waiting until round 2 to grab a David Joseph or a Andrew Whitworth wouldn't be a bad idea either.

That's what I would do. Though it sounds impossible it could work out. I like to play GM. We should do this some other time.
