A mock by ROBERT DAVIS
Houston D'Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, Virginia
This pick in reality will be Bush or Leinart, whoever picks here. With the money the Texans have tied into Carr and Davis, they likely will not pick either. The most likely move if Houston picks first is that they will trade down and address their offensive line, while someone moves up most likely for Matt Leinart.
San Francisco Reggie Bush, RB, USC
Bush has to be the top player on the 9ers board. A perfect fit.
Green Bay Matt Leinart, QB, USC
Even though they took Rodgers last year, Leinart has a chance to be special. Rodgers was not a Top 5 pick, so his contract is movable if they choose to do so.
New Orleans A.J. Hawk, LB, Ohio St.
With Leinart off the board, LB has to be addressed with a talent like Hawk on the board.
Cleveland Eric Winston, OT, Miami
They've been looking for a stud tackle for years, and he finally comes around.
NY Jets Haloti Ngata, DT, Oregon
With the top two tackles off the board, the Jets shore up their DLine with the massive run stopper from Oregon.
Baltimore Mario Williams, DE, North Carolina St.
They need offensive help badly, but there is no skill position player worthy of this pick. So, they make their defense even scarier.
Miami Omar Jacobs, QB, Bowling Green
Miami must get a QB to allow their offense to move up. Jacobs and Brown is a nice start to rebuilding that offense.
Tennessee Jonathan Scott, OT, Texas
Tennessee still needs more youth at tackle, despite drafting Michael Roos last year.
Arizona Jimmy Williams, DB, Virginia Tech
Arizona is looking to put together a nice offense, so the versatile defender in Williams is a great fit.
Oakland Ahmad Brooks, LB, Virginia
Brooks could help out in a number of places: OLB, ILB, and DE.
Minnesota Laurence Maroney, RB, Minnesota
The Vikes keep the local product home, and gives the offense a homerun threat lacking since Randy left town.
Detroit Mathias Kiwanuka, DE, Boston College
After going offense for the past seven first rounders, they finally address the defense early.
Chicago Marcedes Lewis, TE, UCLA
After Reggie Bush to the 49ers, this pick is the no brainer of the draft.
Buffalo Marcus McNeill, OT, Alabama
McNeill is absolutely massive and should help keep McGahee and Losman happy.
St. Louis Leonard Pope, TE, Georgia
With Lewis off the board, Pope moves up. He's right on Lewis' heels as the top TE in the draft.
Dallas Jason Allen, S, Tennessee
While out for the rest of the season, he should be back before the draft. Allen at free safety would form a devastating duo with Roy Williams at SS.
Kansas City Derek Hagan, WR, Arizona St.
Trent Green needs someone to throw to besides Tony Gonzalez.
Denver(Was) Jesse Mahelona, DT, Tennessee
Despite bringing in the entire Browns front last year, the Broncos could use some line help.
Carolina DeAngelo Williams, RB, Memphis
The surprise slider here, the Panthers are ecstatic. With constant health issues around Davis and Foster, they finally get someone to replace them.
San Diego Santonio Holmes, WR, Ohio St.
The Chargers have a very good offense despite a big playmaker at WR. Holmes makes it a great offense.
New England Chad Greenway, LB, Iowa
New England finally goes LB early, and it's a good one. Greenway is the ideal fit for a Patriots D in need of playmakers.
NY Giants Claude Wroten, DT, LSU
Wroten is moving up past some of the higher touted tackles, and the Giants jump on him at this point.
Cincinnati Rodrique Wright, DT, Texas
At one point Wright was a Top 10 possibility, but he's sliding right now, and could fall further.
Jacksonville Charles Gordon, CB, Kansas
Gordon has as much potential as any corner in the draft, but he's as raw as any also. The Jags must address their secondary so they take the risk on the potential star.
Philadelphia Max Jean-Gilles, G, Georgia
Jean-Gilles would be a major upgrade at RG for the Eagles.
Tampa Bay Winston Justice, OT, USC
Justice is falling fast as he has struggled big time this year. This pick is on potential right now, but he could go lower than this come draft day. He might be best served to return for his senior year at SC.
Seattle Martin Nance, WR, Miami(OH)
The Seahawks are putting points up on the board, but who knows how with the receivers they have playing for them. Nance would be a major upgrade at WR for them.
Denver Daryn Colledge, OT, Boise St.
After going DL earlier, they go OL with this pick. They make Colledge a Bronco for another five years at least.
Pittsburgh LenDale White, RB, USC
White is the perfect back for the Steeler offense. With the Bus and Staley only getting older, and Willie Parker being inconsistent, the Steelers would be wise to draft a back that can carry their offense.
Falcons Darnell Bing, S, USC
If not for injury concerns, Bing goes much higher. The Falcons love the fact he's still on the board.
Indianapolis Davin Joseph, G, Oklahoma
As effective as their offense is, it will be much higher with an upgrade at guard.
