nice to see flowers where he is, i agree that he is mid to late second round even top 3rd round, he's not a first round corner IMO like some people have him.

thought Okam and Wheeler would be higher, especially wheeler.

like the Mayo pick for new york, he is going to have to play outside though

the chargers would pick Stewart not out of immediate need, but rather for the future, because LT is getting old for a RB...but his replacement can wait for a couple of years, and wont necessarly need to be a 1st rounder....Stewart could be picked by the Chargers because he is such a great talent, and fills the viod for the future.
The stuff that would've been in my first post that didn't go through would've answered some of this stuff. The difference between the Chargers and those other teams is they have no real needs. Plus LT is a lot closer to slowing down than Manning or Brady because he is an RB. I mean their other real big need is a backup corner or an OT. Do you really think we can draft a more tallented corner than Oliver? Oliver was projected to be a first round pick this year had he stayed in school. As far as OT I am happy with Clary and Olivea and I'd rather have another solid RB than a slight upgrade if any at all at OT. That's just my opinion, we will see what happens.

Adam Schein and Tim Hasselback referred to the interview as "A trainwreck". Manningham gave many one word replies to the questions, or short answers, leaving akward silence for the majority of the interview. We've all been in arguments like that before. Both were also stated that, "hes a forth rounder at best"

Heres some of his responses.

AS- How do you address the concerns of dropped passes? (Not a quote)

MM- "I don't care what people think, how about the balls I did catch!"

AS- Why did you fire your agent? (Not a quote)

MM- I Just did (fire him) because I did."

Heres a quote from another NFL talk board:
I was on the way home and listening to Sirius NFL Blitz with Adam Schein and Tim Hasselbeck (Matt's brother and former QB for the Giants) and they had WR Mario Manningham on as a guest, all I gotta say is wow, he was horrendous, he was definsive about every question they asked him especially when they asked him about the combine incident, saying things like "It is what it is" and basically not owning up to any wrong doing or expressing remorse for his actions

After the interview concluded Tim and Adam were in utter shock, saying that they have never had a prospect come on like that and basically make himself look even worse instead of helping himself, I mean they have prospects on everyday and grill them like this but guide them along to help them say the right things, but Manningham would not take anything and was frequently almost coming into a verbal conflict with them...I have heard them do interviews with several prospects over the last two years (such as Matt Ryan, Eric Wright, Robert Meachum, Amobi Okoye, Calvin Johnson, Malcolm Kelly, Darren McFadden, etc.) and never have I heard a player go out like he did...They have GMs, coaches, and scouts that call in, listen to their show, give them inside info, and other things daily so I know some higher up heard this and was just appauled!

Heres an article on the interview.

HOLE GETS DEEPER FOR MANNINGHAM
Posted by Mike Florio on April 14, 2008, 9:35 p.m.
With a potential draft-day slide being greased by so-so pre-draft workouts and the inexplicable decision to lie at the Scouting Combine about whether he failed one or more drug tests while at Michigan, receiver Mario Manningham did further damage to his draft stock via a train-wreck Monday afternoon appearance on Sirius NFL Radio.

Manningham was interviewed by Adam Schein and Tim Hasselback on the Afternoon Blitz. To put it mildly, it did not go well.

A trusted media source who heard the interview explained it to us as follows: “He made a fool of himself. He hung himself. He took no responsibility to what happened in college or his error in judgment at the Combine. He was arrogant and defensive. When asked about the balls he dropped in big spots, he responded, ‘What about the ball I caught?’ . . . . He couldn’t even handle question about his agent change or why he left college early. . . . Total knucklehead.”

Last week, Manningham sent a letter to all 32 teams seeking forgiveness for his failure to tell the truth at the Combine. Perhaps he’ll now pen a follow-up letter apologizing for his appearance on Sirius NFL Radio.

Thanks for the insight. I agree his stock is definitely slipping now, but I think this quote "hes a forth rounder at best" is probably an exaggeration. A 4th rounder AT BEST? No way. I will listen to an argument for him slipping into the mid 3rd round, but any later than that is foolish

I agree. I think the two (Schien and Hassleback) were still in schock about what just happened.

Thanks again Bowler

I can't see a team touching him in the 1st round. At first I thought maybe San Francisco and Tennessee but Nolan and Fisher are high character guys and that's not happening. I think a team like Dallas will take a chance on him in the 2nd or 3rd round though depending what they do with other picks.
