& [Mock] - Mock Mock - Feedback needed
1. SF - Aaron Rodgers, QB
-Could be Alex Smith, but my guess is Rodgers
2. MIA - Ronnie Brown, RB
-Saban needs a good RB for his system to work
3. CLE - Alex Smith, QB
-They'll start Smith's learning now, and then build a team around him
4. CHI - Cedric Benson, RB
-They need a workhorse for Dec/Jan
5. TB - Cadillac Williams, RB
-Gruden wants him, done deal
6. TEN - Adam Jones, CB
-They need help all over; here's a guy who can fill 2 holes (CB, returns)
7. MIN - Mike Williams, WR
-Marcus Robinson isn't going to cut it for Culpepper
8. SD (from ARI) - Braylon Edwards, WR
-With Edwards still on the board, ARI wisely trades down
9. WAS - Antrel Rolle, CB
-Fred Smoot's gone, Rolle will be better
10. DET - Derrick Johnson, LB
-OL maybe, but I think they'll go defense
11. DAL - Shawn Merriman, LB
-Parcells needs a bigger LB to be the cornerstone of the new 3-4
12. ARI (from SD) - Carlos Rogers, CB
-They need serious help in pass coverage
13. HOU - Alex Barron, OT
-Carr won't last much longer if he doesn't get more protection soon
14. CAR - Troy Williamson, WR
-Colbert will be a great slot WR, so they'll need a #2 to move him over
15. KC - Marcus Spears, DE
-This is if they get Surtain only
16. NO - Travis Johnson, DT
-They need a big man between all their DE's
17. CIN - Thomas Davis, S
-Cleveland is still scoring on them as we speak
18. MIN - Erasmus James, DE
-They need a strong DE opposite Udeze to fully legitimize their D
19. STL - Dan Cody, DE
-They need pressure on the QB to generate some turnovers again
20. DAL - Mark Clayton, WR
-One pick for the offense before they go to D for a while
21. JAX - Shaun Cody, DT
-Their D-line is as good as people seem to think
22. BAL - Channing Crowder, LB
-Off the field issues are no problem for BAL
23. SEA - Justin Miller, CB
-They need an upgrade here
24. GB - Brodney Pool, S
-A little stretch here, but they need the help back there
25. DEN - Heath Miller, TE
-They need D-line help, even/especially after their deals with ex-CLE
players. But, they've had a bad history with drafting D-linemen.
26. NYJ - Matt Jones, TE/WR/QB
-They wanted Miller, but just missed on him. They badly need a TE and
could use added depth at WR and even QB behind Fiedler
27. ATL - Elton Brown, OG
-Vick needs protection. The O-line needs depth with the workout they get
28. ARI (from SD) - Marlin Jackson, CB
-Their biggest weakness last year was their pass D
29. IND - Kevin Burnett, LB
-The need some size added to all their quickness
30. PIT - Corey Webster, CB
-Cowher says he's fine with their current CB's. He'll change his mind
soon, if he hasn't already
31. PHI - DeMarcus Ware, LB
-He would be a perfect fit for Jim Johnsons blitzing schemes
32. NE - Barrett Ruud, LB
-Even if Bruschi comes back, they take this pick

first of all the rivers trade has been denied by both sides so that's wrong, however Edwards to SF is my pick,no way those two QB's go 2 and 3...Ten has already said Alex Barron will be thier pick if he's available,Rolle will be in Mia to replace Surtain,I think you need to pay more attn to the nfl offseason..

the rivers trade wont happen 'cause Rivers is still the future of the team in the organization's mind, no matter how good Brees gets, 'cause Rivers has a hell of a lot more potential than Brees ever would. HOwever, i think that SF would like this trade, sice Rivers is better than any other QB in teh draft. Also, i am an SD fan, and this would be a AWSOME trade for the fans of SD

Pay more attention?
Pay more attention to the offseason?
Why, Did Miami get a QB when I wasn't looking?
Did the NFL make a new rule where if you said you wanted someone you had to take them in the draft?
Are teams no longer allowed to deny trade rumors even if they might be true?
Come on, some of this is speculation, but maybe you should pay more attention to past drafts and the smokescreens that go up before them.

The Rivers trade is officially dead. The Chargers paid him a huge bonus this off-season, and would take a massive salary cap hit if they traded him. There's still a small chance Brees will be traded, but Rivers is off the market for 2005.
As for the draft itself, everything you have happening is possible, but I'm not sure how likely some of it is. I think the 49ers' talk about taking Braylon Edwards is just an attempt (a smokescreen, as you put it) to entice a team to trade up for the pick, as was the fabrication of the Rivers trade; but if they can't swing a deal, then they'll go with one of the 2 QB's. The Lions could use a defensive end, but if they took any of them over Derrick Johnson, it would be a huge reach to say the least. The rest of the picks make pretty good sense.

I have made some revisions, but still have San Diego making a trade on day 1.
