Default How drunk was Jerry Jones during the draft?

1st RD- Bobby Carpenter Could have been late 1st or early 2nd RD

Lawson will be a better OLB prospect than Carpenter.

2nd RD-Anthony Fasno a 2nd RD talent but don't they have Jason Witten?

Dallas' offensive set next year will have Jones and Barber together in the backfield. a two TE set with Fasno and Witten. TO and Glenn on the outside. Now all they need to do is draft Reggie Mcneal and they can run the option out of this set as well!!!!

Damn it the message doesn't come out right but to get the full effect take a peice of paper and pen and draw an offensive formation with.

7 Down Linemen
2 WR's off the LOS
QB Behind Center
2 RB's one behind each guard.

The visual would sell this but the message doesn't work see:

WR TE T G C G T TE WR
QB

RB RB

However, I'm sure after Bill got back from his bathroom break and saw that Jerry put this set on the marker board after drafting Fasno with a big Texas smile on his face. Bill had to say, "Damn Jerry that looks great we could do something with this set if only the league would allow us to use 12 PLAYERS YOU DUMB ASS!!!!"

3rd RD Jason Hatcher- Who???

So tell me whats the over/under of empty items in the Cowboys War Room before noon today.

bottles of Dom Perignon over/under 4

Bottles of Bartles and James over/under 3

24 case of Budweiser over/under 2

Or did Micheal Irvin stop in and drop off:

Over/Under 4 eight balls?

Over/Under 6 Hookers?

What do you guys think?

Lawson is a WLB....Carpenter is a SLB....Ware plays the weak side. I like Carpenter and he's actually who I hoped they would pick. I do think they should've traded down to take him, but I'm not going to hate the pick. I don't understand the Fasano pick, but I promise you that Parcells had a lot to do with him being picked. He's compared to Mark Bavaro. I don't know how the system will work, but I'll give him a chance to show me. Jason Hatcher is a very good prospect and I had him rated to go in the 3rd round for a couple of months now.

Carpenter was by all accounts the best linebacker at Ohio State before getting injured. At 6-3 256 he fits the SLB in Dallas's 3-4 defense. DallasCowboys.com had him going to the Cowboys at #18 for over a month now.

I knew that Dallas would finish off their defense but I thought they would pick a run stuffer in the middle with the first pick. But as they been talking about on all the networks "character " issues can drop you in the draft and especially in the quick fix free agent NFL and that's what happened to Gabe Watson.

The Eagles will quickly depart ways with Winston Justice he will not mesh with Adolf Andy Reed.

Dallas will not use a full back next year. They will use a two tight end set.

Carpenter is a good pick but he's not the best LB at Ohio State. It always was and is AJ Hawk. Reading up on Hawk more I can see why he was the #5 pick and Carpenter and Schegal weren't. Hawk was the leader of the defense and is a playmaker. Hawk was the best LB on Ohio State. Carpenter is a great fit for the 3-4 though. He'll be a great compliment with Lawson.

Exactly. I do like the Carpenter pick, because he would be a great compliment to Demarcus Ware on the strong side. I can also definately see the Fasano pick, because the Cowboys have never really used a fullback anyway. We ran a lot of 2 TE sets already last year with Dan Campbell, and it will even become more prominent with Fasano. I don't like the Hatcher pick, though. I would have liked to see Ko Simpson there, but thats just me.

I'm glad to see that Parcells was in charge of the picks in the 2nd day of the draft.

I will be the first to admit that they had a by far better 2nd day draft than most of the teams in the NFL.
