Possible Chargers Trade
I dont quite remember where, but i did hear that SD is shopping their 19th overall pick to teams with picks in teh late 1st, or early 2nd. The rumoured teams are the Jets' #29, Indy's pick(which suggest that they want DeAngelo or Maroney), Pittsburgh, and Houston's #33 (might want McNeill). This strengthens my beliefs of them drafting Cromartie, since #19 might be a little high...
Any thoughts?

Also, there may be a possibility of SD moving far up in the draft, (GM) AJ Smith and SD's director of player personnel were present for Virginia's Pro-Day, and D'Brick was the only one worth mentioning working out. When a GM shows up, he mist be targeted...SD may try to orchestrate a trade with the Saints or the Jets (or the Saints after a trade with teh Jets)...

I think San Diego moving down makes a lot of sense. It puts them in position to take Darnell Bing or Ko Simpson or even Cromartie..

I would think moving up to strenghten up their offensive line would be a great move also, i could see a three team trade for D'Brick...That would make LT even more productive...but again, is that possible?

If the chargers do move up... it has to be for o-line help... they get by with an average O-line and now Rivers is moving in and will need more time to make plays... if Winston might fall I could see the chargers taking him

winston justice wont fall to San Diego....but if they wanted to take McNeil that is a real possibility.....i think Donte Whitner is also a logical pick.......

trsde chargers
If they do trade down I think they'll have to beef up that offensive line. I have them picking a linemen in the first round anyways. Before the broncos traded up I had them picking WhiteRB but everybody thought I was nuts. Now I think the broncos moved up to pick white and The chargers will pick a linemen. They may pick somebody like harrison or addadi in the 3rd, or even humes if still there.

Trading down makes a ton of sense for the Chargers. There will be plenty of quality players in the early second round at offensive tackle and defensive back, so rather than reaching for somebody at pick 19 they can almost certainly get great value later on, and pick up another pick or two in the process. I really expect San Diego to move down on draft day (probably not before then though).

here's something for you all to consider when it coems to Charger round 1 picks....
1998-traded one spot up to get Ryan Leaf
1999-traded for Ryan Leaf
2000-traded for Ryan Leaf
2001-traded down-->drafted LT rather than Vick
2002-stayed put--->drafted Jammer
2003-traded down--->drafted Davis
2004-traded right to picks--->signed Rivers, instead of Manning
2005a)-gained from NYG(Manning)-->drafted Merrimen
2005b)-stayed put--->drafted Castillo
2006-TO BE DETERMINED
