Winston performed very well at the combine, actually having the fastest 40 at 4.94...his knee injury was said to be healed and operating at 100%.....john clayton said he had locked himself as a first round pick.....i know we shouldnt listen to john clayton all the time, but he is a reliable sorce and winston did have a hell of a combine.....

where do you think he'll be drafted now...

I've been the biggest Winston hater on this site and it is due mostly to his performance his senior year. I stated in the combine thread that I was very impressed by him. He impressed me more than any other OL at the combine. I don't rate him a 1st rounder still because I think he still struggles with a speed rusher and will have to move to RT. His footwork wasn't very impressive during the OL drills, but he showed plenty of athleticism with his 40, broad jump, vert jump, cone drills and shuttle drills. He moves to early 2nd round for me. I put him as the 3rd or 4th OT in the draft now behind McNeill and Justice and right in step with O'Callaghan. Johnathan Scott was the guy who was very unimpressive to me. He looked terrible in drills, especially the pull drills. I dropped him below Winston, O'Callaghan and Trueblood as well. I think if a team feels like Charles Spencer is more of an OT to them then they could take him before Winston even. I still think he's a OG at the next level though.

I've had him as a 2nd round pick and now I think he could slip into round 1. I have him as my 5th rated tackle. His combine wasn't WOWING but it was pretty good.

Yeah if Houston stays put at pick #1 and takes Bush I think if a guy like Eric Winston is on the board which I believe he will, the Texans will take him.
