Default DeAngelo Williams

On about 95% of the mocks on this forum, people have the jets taking Williams or D'Brick. If the jets do take D'Brick where does Williams fall. No one desperatly needs a RB until the Vikings or Colts. The Ravens will probably give Lewis 1 or 2 more years, so what happens to Williams?

49ers need a back. That's where I have him going as of now though that'll probably change. The Cardinals could use a back. I actually think if he falls out of the top 10 someone will trade up for him.

I still think they would take Huff. Williams is amazing but he is a little small for the NFL (then again so was Barry Sanders)

Small is not the issue here, yes he is a stocky 5 foot 8 or so but the mans bult like a brick house...you ever see the upper body strength he has? He probably has leg power to go with it.

His low center of gravity will only help him then, he'll be invisible behind the line(which is most of the time good). Brandon Jacobs has trouble with his running power because hes so tall so he runs standing upward too much, why do you think he gets stuffed at the goal line 50% of the time.

DeAngelo Williams could drop down to past the 10th pick but thats unlikely, Mel kiper and all of the scouts at the senior bowl said that they liked his maturity and the fact that he was willing to learn and try to improve on anything(especially receiving out of the backfield).

I have the senior bowl game and practices on Tivo im watching him right now, hes a beast and the jets should take him over Furgeson.

I could see Williams falling, whether it's justified or not. Teams may be gun-shy about taking a small back with A LOT of mileage on him already. I think Williams is going to be an excellent pro, but I firmly believe the Jets would select D'Brick over him if the draft happened tomorrow, and I think the Niners would pass as well (though that could change with a good combine). I don't see him falling past pick 13, with either the Ravens picking him, or someone trading up to that spot to get him. If Baltimore franchises Jamal Lewis, he's going to be owed $8 million and change this year, which is way above what he deserves. At least one back (possibly all 3) from the group of Williams, White, and Maroney will be available when the Ravens are picking, so replacing him would not be difficult--and it'd be a heck of a lot cheaper.

I'm hearing news that the Ravens are thinking of letting Lewis go. They like Chester Taylor and Musa Smith and probably would like to add a RB whether that would be through the draft or free agency.

The jets rb situation is critical, they should take Williams. But I think they'll take the Brick. If they don't take him and SF passes on him, which is a good possibility - Gore turned it on last year. Then someone will trade up to get him.

Williams to me is the most "NFL Sterotype" back in the draft and could be a great back. If the Jets do pass on him which i think they will someone will jump up and draft him hes got to much upside to let go.
