Default Cutler to Detroit STOP IT

It is obvious that harrington is Millans guy

As long as Millan is running the show Harrington will be their guy

I do not think garcia will be back he might just quit the team period

Cutler will be a great QB in the league but not in Detroit

What has Harrington done to prove he's a starter....

WR-Rodgers
WR-R. Williams
WR-M. Williams
RB-Jones
TE-Pollard

Millen's added all these players around him on offense, and he still can't get anything done. I think it's time for a change...even if they use Orlovsky.

Yeah Harrington isn't going to be a Lion next year. I believe Matt Millen knows he's a bust. There going to bring someone in. Cutler could be the choice but I'm not sure on that right now.

Millen has been given a 2nd chance. He's not going to be that ignorant and stick with Harrington.

one more reason why that retart millen should go, and not let the door hit him on the azz on the way out.

You cannot say that Joey Harrington is a complete failure. Sure the kid hasn't lived up to the potential the Lions saw in him when they drafted him 3rd overall in the 2002 NFL draft but the guy has had some good games. His main problem is inconsistency, but I do agree, he doesn't have a future in the NFL and Cutler would be a good draft day signing for the Detroit Lions.

If Harrington was the guy then why was he benched? His leash is beyond short this year, he may not even start next season. I don't think Garcia will be brought back either. That leaves them with two QB's. Neither of them show much promise. Harrington and Orlovsky and ???????. If not Cutler than who? Do they make a move for Volek? Kitna? If they stick with Harrington I don't like their chances of sucess.

I always thought that was one of the most bizarre hires. This is the extreemly simplified Matt Millen timeline:

1) Played linebacker in college
2)Played linebacker in the NFL
3)Got a job in broadcasting
4)Gets hired as Detroits GM

How was he even quilified for that job? How often is it that ex players turned TV personalities are hired to have full control of a football team? Lets make Terrell Davis our GM, lets make Shannon Sharpe our GM, let's make Steve young our GM.

I could see Millen going from the booth to a linebackers coaching job and working his way up from there. Instead he just skipped all of that and was running the show. Then he gets signed to an extension after Detroit showed no improvment?

It's a "good ol' boy" system within the NFL. Actually that system happens in all levels of sports. It's all about who you know. He obviously had some connections with someone higher up in the front office. This system is a big reason why there is a lack of minority head coaches in the NFL although I do think that this year there was a lack of quality minority coaches to fill jobs. I do think Mike Singletary should be given a shot at a head coaching job. Anyway, I got a lil off topic there.

I don't know if Harrington is "Millen's guy," but I agree that the Lions will not get rid of him. Garcia is already out the door, and the team will likely bring in another veteran to compete with Harrington for the job. I just don't see them using another high pick to try to directly fix the passing game...that'd be what, 5 top 10 picks in 5 years? (Harrington, Rogers, Roy Williams, and Mike Williams being the first 4). It's time for the franchise to add an impact player to the defense, or get a top offensive lineman to aid in both the running and passing game.

Also, if they brought in Cutler, he'd be under such immense pressure to succeed right away that it'd ruin him, in my opinion. So few rookie quarterbacks play well, yet I can just imagine people saying, "well look at all the talent he has around him! Why can't he be like Roethlisberger!" and the city not even giving him a chance.
