What is the best rivalry in sports?
I say either Oklahoma vs. Texas, or NYY vs. Boston. What do you think?

OSU-Mich? Are f'ing serious? It's not even professional! You can't be the best rivalry if your athletes aren't of the highest caliber, and college athletes aren't as good as pros. It's goota be Red Sox vs. Yankees. The trade of Ruth...Williams vs. Dimaggio, Bucky Dent, then the 2003 and 2004 ALCSs. No rivalry has more history. These guys have played each other way more times (something like 1,875) than any of the other best rivalries. That's allowed them a lot of chances to vent frustration at one another. Think about it...If OSU played Mich on the same day the Yanks played the Sox in game 7 of the ALCS, which would be first on Sportcenter? Definitely the Yanks and Sox.

How many pro football games are close each week? 2 maybe 3. In college it is close basically every week and that is what makes watching the cologe better. Sure you see the Yanks on first but everytime it's yanks 9 red sox 2 or something like that. In all the big rivalrys in College football, the games are closer and that makes it better to watch because sure you would like to see a blow out with your team wining but it is more intense than a regular game because nobody is being paid besides the coaches. You don't have people bitching about their contracts and that crap. A lot of the time in the OSU v. Michigan games, which play on the final week, the teams are fighting for the chance to get a bowl bid. Any colege rivalry has more history behind it than any pro sport rivalry. Oh the yankees beating the Red soxs evryyear and then they win the world series. Sure I like the Yankees but it's the same thing every year.
In Ohio State v. michigan, you can never tell who is going to win. Plus you don't have the same team winning ever year. I think that the record between OSU and michigan is pretty even, correct me if i'm wrong, and so you don't have the same team wining each year, which I like if it is the Yankees but it is boring.

NCAA footaball- Michigan vs Ohio State espacially this year because both teams are VERY good
Baseball- New York Yankees vs Boston Red Soxs

Idk bout you guys, but when the Sox were down 3 games to none, i didnt think they would win. Seems pretty unpredictable to me.

obviously it's sox-yanks. however, shows like sportscenter and just about every other big time sports show thinks that the entire nation cares about that rivalry. newsflah: WE DON'T. For one thing, baseball has got to be the most boring sport-below golfing, figure skating, and probably extreme checkers too. I hate turning on SC and seeing all the top stories about either:
1)what went on w/ the sox and yanks
2)more redundant steroids talk
3)Talk about barry bonds and how baseball will not be the same
then aftterwards they will mention short segments on the sports most ppl actually care about. anyone else feel like me???
anyway, the answer, sadly, is the sox and the yanks (snoooze)
