mock with explainations
1. Detroit Lions Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia
Don't like the pick, but it's the most likely one.
Other possibility: Jason Smith
2. St. Louis Rams Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
People in St. Louis want Curry but you have to take the franchise LT to anchor the line.
Other possibility: Aarron Curry
3. Kansas City Chiefs Brian Orakpo, OLB, Texas
Curry fits best as an ILB in the 3-4. They have edwards, Johnson, and the newly signed Thomas to play inside in their 3-4. The spot they really need a player in though is the 3-4 Outside rush lb. Orakpo is the best, and to me is the 4th BPA in the draft.
Other possibility: Aarron Curry
4. Seattle Seahawks Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia
With hasselbeck getting oler but still capable i think they hold off on sanchez and get the franchise LT to keep matt healthy this season and then protect a rookie next season.
Other possibility: Mark Sanchez
5. Cleveland Browns Aaron Curry, LB, Wake Forest
They'll jump all over him if available, he'll start somewhere immediately. The browns are in a nice position that they will most likely get the BPA or the second BPA in the draft at pick 5, great value.
Other possibility: Michael Crabtree
6. Cincinnati Bengals Michael Oher, OT, Ole Miss
I don't buy the rumors they are in love with smith because they are trying to not get guys with character issues, which has plagued the franchise. Oher, although a little of a reach, is worth the reach IMO because of his solid character and his ability to play LT and keep palmer off his back.
Other possibility: Andre Smith
7. Oakland Raiders Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech
I don't think there is any way that Al Davis passes on a guy like Crabtree to give Russell. Oakland is now pretty stacked at the skill positions.
Other possibility: B.J. Raji
8. Jacksonville Jaguars Mark Sanchez, QB, USC
My feeling is, after hearing from several sources, that JVille is going to go QB with this pick, and that Sanchez is the guy they want. Makes sense with an aging Garrad. Sanchez will be in a good situation where he can sit and learn for a year.
Other possibility: Jeremy Maclin
9. Green Bay Packers Aaron Maybin, OLB, Penn State
Kind of a no Brainer. Maybin is the best edge rusher in the draft and just what GB needs for the new 3-4.
Other possibility: B.J. Raji
10. San Francisco 49ers Andre Smith, OT, Alabama
I thought about this one for a while and it seems Smith is the BPA as far as their needs at Tackle, WR, QB, OLB. It is debatable, but I've also heard reports that singletary says the weakest part of the team is the oline, and so with Staley and SMith, no matter who plays what side, I think that gives them a solid tackle duo.
Other possibility: Jeremy Maclin
11. Buffalo Bills B.J. Raji, DT, Boston College
A passrusher is a big need here but as far as value Raji is better than Brown or ayers. Ayers at 11 is high, and brown's value sin't as great in a 4-3. DT is a need in buffalo also.
Other possibility: Everette Brown
12. Denver Broncos Malcolm Jenkins, CB/S, Ohio State
Tough call for me here but its just too early for tyson jackson. Right now, I beleive denver (don't quote me) has Jack Williams penciled in as the starter opposite Champ... and their safeties are brian dawkins at strong and.... at FS. Yea, Jenkins will start at either corner or FS, wherever he fits best. Denver can't pass on the best DB in the draft here.
Other possibility: Tyson jackson
13. Washington Redskins Everette Brown, DE, Florida State
With the top 4 OT's gone they are in a bind. Reach for Britton? I don't think so at 13, and so they add a passrusher at a DE spot that is weak.
Other possibility: Eben Britton
14. New Orleans Saints Vontae Davis, CB, Illinois
I'm not sold on them taking an overrated wells while pierre thomas is there. Of the 23 RB's drafted ahead of Thomas, Adrian Peterson is the only one to have had more all purpose yards than thomas, that says something. I think they stick with him and bush. So then what? DB is real weak, and yea its a reach, but they take Davis. I think this is the spot you see someone trade up to for Freeman.
Other possibility: Beanie Wells
15. Houston Texans Percy Harvin, WR, Florida
I like this pick a lot. It fits because the texans offense could utilaize Harvin to the fullest extent of his abilities. He would play some tailback and some WR (just like at florida), and be a nice compliment to andre johnson. True Maclin is available, but I beleive harvin fits the scheme better, and isn't much less of a talent.
Other possibility: Jeremy Maclin
16. San Diego Chargers - Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU
Pefect replacement for igor Olshanksy at the 3-4 DE spot.
Other possibility: Knowshon Moreno
17. New York Jets Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri
Steal here for the Jets. They'd jump allll over maclin here.
Other possibility: Josh Freeman
18. Denver Broncos Peria Jerry, DE, Ole Miss
With tyson jackson off the board, 3-4 DE seems to be their biggest need, and so they take Jerry who could move to 3-4 DE with no problem IMO.
Other possibility: Josh Freeman
19. Tampa Bay Bucs Josh Freeman, QB, Kansas State
I beleive they added leftwich to groom Freeman, and you can't deny the Raheem Morris Connection.
Other possibility: Clay Matthews
20. Detroit Lions Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee
BPA on defense. Detroit needs to just draft the BPA in this draft to up the overall talent of the team.
Other possibility: Brian Cushing
21. Philadelphia Eagles Knowshon Moreno, RB, Georgia
I think Wells would fit better but I think they'd draft Moreno over him. Philly needs a compliment for Westbrook, who gets hurt too often.
Other possibility: Beanie Wells
22. Minnesota Vikings Eben Britton, OT, Arizona
It seems pretty clear Minny is lookin OT and Britton is the best available.
Other possibility: William Beatty
23. New England Patriots Brian Cushing, LB, USC
Fits nicely because he can play inside or outside. I personally think he'll find his home inside. Cushing and Mayo will give a deadly combo inside.
Other possibility: Clay Matthews
24. Atlanta Falcons Clay Matthews, OLB, USC
Will fit in really nice on the strong side. OLB is a huge need after losing Brooking and Boley.
Other possibility: James Laurinaitis
25. Miami Dolphins Darius Butler, CB, UConn
Next best corner in the draft. Pass defense ranked 25th in the league, and they resigned both safeties this year, so corner appears to be the move.
Other possibility: Alphonso Smith
26. Baltimore Ravens Darius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland
They can't resist and go for DHB to give the big armed flacco a deep threat who can run under those long passes.
Other possibility: Rey Maualuga
27. Indianapolis Colts Beanie Wells, RB, Ohio State
Rushing offense ranked near last last year, and addai seems to have durability issues. RB by comitee could be the best way to go. Good value here.
Other possibility: Evander Hood
28. Philadelphia Eagles William Beatty, OT, Connecticut
With tra Thomas out and Jon Runyan old OT is a big need.
Other possibility: Brandon Pettigrew
29. New York Giants James Laurinaitis, LB, Ohio State
Will start off playing the weakside and then move inside when peirce retires... or gets benched.
Other possibility: Rey Maualuga
30. Tennessee Titans Brian Robiskie, WR, Ohio State
The Titans are in desperate need of a number one WR, which they haven't has since Derek Mason.
Other possibility: Kenny Britt
31. Arizona Cardinals Michael Johnson, DE, Georgia Tech
Should fit in nicely where they lost antonio Smith. Could see time at OLB in arizona's hybrid type schemes as well.
Other possibility: Donald Brown/LeSean McCoy
32. Pittsburgh Steelers Alex Mack, C, California
With the defense first in about evrything, Offense seems the way to go. They start with the O-line where Mack is an instant upgrade at center.
Other possibility: Hakeem Nicks

Round 2
33. Detroit Lions Rey Maualuga, MLB, USC
BPA, plays inbetween Sims and Peterson
34. New England Patriots Larry English, OLB, Northern Illinois
Takes over Mike Vrabel's old spot
35. St. Louis Rams Kenny Britt, WR, Rutgers
Perfect compliment to the speedy Avery
36. Cleveland Browns Hakeem Nicks, WR, North Carolina
Stallworth has issues and Edwards is likely out
37. Seattle Seahwaks Louis Delmas, S, Western Michigan
Secondary was atrocious a year ago
38. Cincinnati Bengals Connor Barwin, OLB/TE, Cincinnati
Could Start at SAM and will see some TE action as well.
39. Jacksonville Jaguars Alphonso Smith, CB, Wake Forest
Steal, gives them an upgrade over brian Williams at corner.
40. Oakland Raiders Max Unger, OL, Oregon
Good fit for the ZBS, where he'll play C or even LT.
41. Green Bay Packers Evander Hood, DE, Missouri
Fillin in the pieces for the 34.
42. Buffalo Bills Duke Robinson, OG, Oklahoma
Gaurd is the second biggest need in buffalo. They get the draft's best.
43. San Francisco 49ers Clint Sintim, OLB, Virginia
Manny Lawson has lacked and there's not much else there.
44. Miami Dolphins SenDerrick Marks, DL, Auburn
Gives depth at NT and DE in the 3-4, and could end up a starter somewhere.
45. New York Giants LeSean McCoy, RB, Pitt
Fills in the spot Derrick Ward left.
46. Houston Texans Sean Smith, DB, Utah
Will start at FS or corner (like Jenkins in round 1)
47. New England Patriots D. J. Moore, CB, Vanderbilt
They brought in springs but it's still a position on the team that could use youth... and a nickel back.
48. Denver Broncos Ron Brace, NT, Boston College
Get their NT for the 34
49. Chicago Bears Phil Loadholt, OT, Oklahoma
There's no one to play RT right now except Fred Miller whose been in the league fro 14 seasons.
50. Cleveland Browns Donald Brown, RB, Connecticut
Should take over the starting spot for jamal lewis after a year of sitting.
51. Dallas Cowboys Rashad Johnson, S, Alabama
They need a safety to replace Roy Williams.
52. New York Jets Jarron Gilbert, DE, San Jose State
DE opposite Shaun Ellis is a weak spot.
53. Philadelphia Eagles Brandon Pettigrew, TE, Oklahoma State
Great Value here... TE is a need.
54. Minnesota Vikings Derrick Williams, WR, Penn State
They need a receiver still and Williams performed well at his proday
55. Atlanta Falcons Shawn Nelson, TE, Southern Miss
They take the better overall TE in Nelson over Jared Cook
56. Miami Dolphins Juaquin Iglesias, WR, Oklahoma
Good possesion type receiver to compliment all their speedy guys.
57. Baltimore Ravens Patrick Chung, S, Oregon
Plays the SS spot next to Ed Reed.
58. New England Patriots Pat White, QB/WC, West Virginia
What do you give a team with no needs? A backup QB which they are issing and a new dimension to the offense with the WildCat formation.
59. Carolina Panthers Paul Kruger, DE, Utah
Fills in nice whether peppers leaves or not.
60. New York Giants Louis Murphy, WR, Florida
WR becomes a need with toomer gone and plax in jail.
61. Indianapolis Colts Jamon Merideth, OT, South Carolina
Another step toward helping that run offense.
62. Tennessee Titans Victor Harris, CB, Va Tech
Corner had no depth.
63. Arizona Cardinals Eric Wood, C, Louisville
Should start right away.
64. Pittsburgh Steelers Coye Francies, CB, San Jose State
Corner has little depth.

I dont want to quote you, but Andre Goodman is the starter opposite of Champ Bailey.
Josh Bell very well could be the nickel, with Jack William playing dime. J-Will showed little development through the season last year.
