I'll split it up into three posts, and add explanations, so I apologize for the subsequent spam.

I'm going to San Francisco this weekend, I expect to come back to high praise and fanfare lol.

I liked Gholston's workout but I don't think he'll go #2 to the Rams. He's just not the prospect that Jake Long is IMO.

I love the DRC pick to Baltimore. I think it could happen. Actually in your draft I'd put DRC ahead of Rivers to New England.

I don't think that NE will take a CB in round one. There will be alot of talent available later in the draft and much like their receivers, NE tends to pick smaller, quicker guys. I think that DRC could stand to learn alot from Chris Mcallister. New England has built its team from the inside out, Continuity on O-line, D-line, and generally in the linebacking corps, with low risk guys at other well, riskier positions, and had Tom Brady fall into their lap.

I've debated Jake Long for a while. I came to this conclusion. Holt's 30+, Bruce is 35+, certainly, the offense is aging, but I wonder if the current window isn't closing faster than given credit for, even after a terrible season. The Rams achilles heal has always been their d, getting a guy who can play long term in both the 3-4 and 4-3, and can probably step in Week 1 in either an End or LB position is more important in my opinion. I actually debated Sedrick Ellis here, I think that any defense would be scary with a solid NT and Adam Carriker wide.

My biggest disagreement with this draft is Calais Campbell. He's not a first round pick still. He weighs over 290 lbs., ran a 5.1 40 and repped 16 on the bench. No quickness and no strength? He had the worst combine of anyone. His work ethic is being called into question heavily. Third round at best right now.

I don't like Rivers in the top 10 and I really don't see that much separation between him and Connor.

I'll still stand by Houston not having a need for an OT. I can see them drafting one at some point, but not in the first round.

I think Chris Johnson and Jamaal Charles moved ahead of Felix Jones. Both showed better speed and are better interior rushers. I think you have Johnson and Charles slipping too far.

Love seeing Devin Thomas in the first round. He's definitely there.

Cardinals have drafted Gabe Watson and Alan Branch the last two years to play NT. Don't need Red Bryant.

Good to see Terrance Wheatley and Marcus Howard in the second round. Wheatley had a great combine.

Too low for Erin Henderson. He would fit in a 3-4 though.

Tony Hills is too high in the third round even. Bad technique and too many injury concerns.

I don't think Eric Ainge has done anything to move into the third round.

As a Cowboys fan, I would be ecstatic to have Aqib Talib, Jordy Nelson and Craig Steltz.

It's strange how a month difference during this time of the year can hurt someone's draft status. I had Campbell to Jacksonville I believe a month ago. I recall Cubbs mentioning his omission in my 1st round during my 1st mock and at the time I had him rated out as a late 1st to 2nd round pick. Now I think he's lucky to go early 3rd.

I don't have time to write in my explanations, but I'll try to answer cubbuffsman's questioning of my draft.

1. High weight, and average 40 for weight is less of a concern in my opinion, especially for the Jags, and being 6-8 with long arms doesn't lend itself to a bunch of bench reps. Campbell's on field performance should weigh heavier, and even your boy Mcshay explained how little the combine numbers actually play into the drafting process. He said 10%, I tend to think its a little higher, but I don't think Campbell is the type of guy who can kill himself with a bad combine.

2. I absolutely agree with you on the level of separation between Connor and Rivers, I think Rivers is slightly better. I don't think the Pats will take a CB in the 1st, I really think they will try hard to trade out of that pick, but if they keep it I think they have to draft at a greater need, and can afford to. I debated Glenn Dorsey, who I believe you mentioned in another thread, and I agree with your thinking, but stick by Rivers.

3. I think that Houston is another team who can wait on their needs and take a luxury pick at 18. Not because they are elite, in the case of the Pats, but that most of their needs are fairly deep in this draft. This draft is very deep at alot of positions, in my opinion, which will push even its shallow positions' elite into the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

4. I understand your reasoning on Jones, but his production in the same system as Mcfadden was nearly equal. While I like Johnson, Charles, Steve Slaton and Ray Rice more, I did my best to not make this based on my own opinions.

5. I like Devin Thomas also. I like him more than Sweed, Hardy, Desean Jackson, Early Doucet, etc. In my mind he's #2, but again, I tried to keep my own opinion seperated.

6. Part of my explanation was going to be the assumption that Arizona switches to a full time 3-4, and Red Bryant would be either an end, and the other two filling the other positions, or NT with the other two split wide.

7. I think that there will be alot of good corners going into the future, considering this year, and last year's depth at the position. Perhaps it will lead the swing of power from offensive teams to defensive teams.

8. By too low do you mean too late on Erin Henderson? I wanted him higher, but its hard to project the LB's in this draft, who will end up later in nearly direct contrast with the CB's taken early, IMO.

9. I'm not going to argue too much over a 3rd round tackle.

10. I actually think that Eric Ainge could slip into the late 2nd depending on what teams draft QB's in 1st and 2nd. Ainge has all the makings of Tom Brady and Derek Anderson (wait on judgement) he's got all the physical ability, but will need a few years to develope. I also think that Brett Favre's retirement could shuffle some QB's toward the top. I think the Packers could look at Chad Henne in the late 1st if Brian Brohm went to the Bucs or 49'ers.

11. Dallas is in position to have a historical draft, I'm sure that would be a welcomed change from their last two, which was preceded by a great 4 year stretch.

I think Kelly, phillips, and harvey are all a bit high, but especially kelly.

No Way Desean Jackson falls out of round one. Yes maybe to the bottom, but someone will take him. I'd list philly, dallas, tennessee, and san Fransisco all as possibilites. No way he gets by all of them.

Erin Henderson will not fall out of the second round.

hefney out of the third... id say 4th at absolute best

def good draft tho, I think i really like gholston to the rams, and i agree about dorsey falling to the bengals, although cubbs made a good point in saying the pats can afford to take a risk on him.
