i like the draft, finally, someone that agrees that R-C is 1st round talent, and Woodson may not get drafted in the 1st 31.

That being said, Otah is a little high, i dont think it would be a problem for Detroit to snag him, if tehy saw fit.

You seem to be missing Baker, which im not sure if you realized or not, but SD would have him ranked over Cherilus.

I have not been a proponent of Gholston in the top 10, but with NE, i guess its possible, but McKelvin seems more likely, since Samuel is likely gone.

Good draft, all said and done

Haha. You misspelled "mis spellings". Sorry. I love it when people do that. I find it a bit a humorous.

I think your Rams - Chris Long explanation is either confusing or wrong. Carriker spent the season at DT and what other position would Long possibly play in their system? He's not big enough to be a DT and I don't think he's a 4-3 OLB.

I believe Sedrick Ellis could play any position on the DL. I think he can be a NT, but I think he'd be even more effective at DE in the Jets' 3-4. He's going to be a disruption no matter where he lines up.

I prefer Jenkins and Talib over McKelvin still, but I think the three are clearly the top 3 CBs in the draft and could go from picks 7-20.

The biggest issue I have with your mock is Malcolm Kelly. I really disagree that he has the most consistent hands. I find him very inconsistent in his production. He's a great deep threat with tons of potential, but take away his first three games of the regular season and he had a very pedestrian year. He disappeared at times. He had one 100-yard game and just two touchdowns in the Sooners' last 9 games and didn't miss any time. I was high on Kelly coming into the season, but he lost me over the stretch of it. Not catching a ball in the Sooners' bowl game sealed the deal for me. It's not like teams could concentrate on him. Joaquin Iglesias was capable of hurting defense just as much and was the Sooners' most productive receiver this season. And even if defenses were concentrating on him, great receivers are shut down in college. There isn't an offensive position easier to take out of a game in the pros, but a great college receiver will always produce.

I place Baker and Williams ahead of Otah. Baker had a good Senior Bowl and Williams' has been moving up boards steadily since the end of the season.

I don't think Fred Davis is a top 20 pick. Most of what I read on him in the Senior Bowl was that he lacked explosiveness and he wasn't the most impressive TE. Brad Cottam got that nod. I think he's a late first to early second round pick. I don't think he'll test the way you will either.

I like Stewart over Mendenhall, but that's just a difference of opinion. Either player could go there. I personally think that if two RBs between Mendenhall, Stewart and Jones are available at 22, then Dallas will take the chance one of them will be available at 28 and take a DB.

So you've moved Lawrence Jackson over Calais Campbell and Campbell completely out of the first? I have Campbell lower than a lot of draftniks, but I put him right there to Jacksonville. I agree Jackson has helped his stock over the past three months, but I still have him as the fifth or sixth DE overall.

I'm not a Cherilus fan. Sam Baker would be a much better pick there. I don't understand why he's out of your first round. He wasn't great at the Senior Bowl, but much more consistent than Cherilus. Cherilus is a second round pick in my mind.

I don't put Cromartie that high yet. I like him as a second round pick, but I'm not on the bandwagon that much. We do rank him the same on the CB boards, though. I just have him lasting longer.

I wanted to move both Pat Sims and Kentwan Balmer up higher in the first round, but struggled to do so. I had both in the late first as well.

Nice mock Porky. I can't see the Titans passing on Sweed for Doucet. Sweed makes too much sense there.

I'm not sold on Woodson falling out of the first but we'll see how his stock changes.

Cubbs,

I think Long is capable of playing anywhere on the Defensive Line. I think he has the strength to move inside if needed which is why I clarified that I believe Carriker would play inside and Long at DE.

The lowest I’ve seen Kelly was 19 and that was Todd McShay’s draft. I really am not that high on any of the receivers in this draft but I can’t let my ignorance get the best of me and I simply projected Kelly to go where I think he would fit. I do believe he’s the most consistent of all the receivers and a good route runner. Kelly is tall and can really go up and get the ball as well as he would be able to move to chains. You may differ but I am not particularly in love with any of the receivers in this draft except maybe Lavelle Hawkins from Cal.

I simply couldn’t find a place for Sam Baker. I see about 5 or 6 offensive tackles that have 1st round talent but only really 4 or 5 draft spots for an offensive tackle. The Chargers need a Right Tackle and Cherilus in my opinion projects to be a better Right Tackle than Sam Baker.

For the record those tackles are

1. Jake Long
2. Ryan Clady
3. Jeff Otah
4. Chris Williams
5. Gosder Cherilus (on the right side only)
6. Sam Baker

I like Calalis Campbell but he continues to fall much like Mathias Kiwanuka did in 2006. Granted “Kiwi” was still a 1st round pick but not selected nearly as high as thought. Campbell I rate out as a late 1st to early 2nd round pick. I think Jackson played well.

Fred Davis to me has the speed of a receiver and the size of the a Tight End. I think he has a lot of upside and he never caught my eye right away but later on he did which is why I bump him that high.

Bball,

I like Woodson a lot but he was the 3rd best QB at Mobile all week. Flacco and Henne were better, especially Chad Henne. I read Mike Martz was one of the reasons for that but Woodson to me has upside but really didn’t separate himself at all. That’s why the bigger winner of the senior bowl for QB’s was actually Matt Ryan.

Actually, Brohm earned more. The should cement him as #2 (unless people think more of Flacco).

Also, to finally address this Chargers 1st round RT thing, here's how the Chargers line looks:

McNeill - 2nd round
Dielman - Undrafted
Hardwick - 3rd round
Goff - via FA, 3rd round
Clary - 6th round / Olivea 7th round

With the history of mid-to-low round OL picks for SD, and only one 1st day pick, expect SD to do whatever it takes to get a DB in the 1st, prefereably a CB, but a versatile S will be acceptable.

SD,
I can see san diego's need for a safety easily... but They have cromartie who could be the secodn best corner behind champ bailey in the AFC, along with Jammer and Florence who are good players... why would you say they need a corner? It seemed as if in the playoffs corner was a strong point of the team...

Mendenhall would not really be a change of pace back for the Cowboys. Mendenhall is more of a every down workhorse type of back. He reminds me of L.J. If they take a back in the first round and don't think they will Jones to me would be a better fit.

Look for Dallas to double up on corners in the first round.

Corner was a strong point, but Florence is leaving, and their dime back, Paul Oliver, seems to be moving to safety, leaving Steve Gregories to play nickel. That is not acceptable. Corner is a need, sincde they play a lot of nickel packages

So you think that they would take a guy who would play nickel in the first round? While they do need to address it, a safety makes more sense for the Chargers.
