Default Please rate my Mock draft

2009 NFL Mock Draft by Jeremy Bissett

I have a reach with Darrius Heyward-Bey going #7 to the Raiders and a couple of trade possibilities listed tell me what you think.

Thanks,

1/10... I gave you a 1 because Rey to the Chargers. I don't get the point of predicting trade possibilities this early, or ever, when there are so many possibilities.

I'll just critique your round one.

I think Heyward-Bey is climbing boards, but No. 7 is just to high. I think he's more in the mid round one range. I could see Oakland moving down for him though.

I think Buffalo is going to zero in on a pass rusher.

Right now it looks like Denver might want to draft Mark Sanchez and ship Cutler to Detroit or some other place. I don't see anyway they move Cutler unless they know they can get Sanchez or Stafford and that's even with Chris Simms.

Tyson Jackson is really just a DE in the 3-4. Washington is looking for a pass rusher to replace Jason Taylor and Jackson is anything, but a pass rusher.

I don't think New Orleans has any intention of selecting a receiver that early unless Lance Moore is signed. He's an RFA.

Chicago drafted Chris Williams to be their LT last year. I can't see them bailing already. Oher could be in line to be the RT though.

Duke Robinson and Davin Joseph are two different prospects. Joseph is actually a consistent player and good. There were very little questions with him and he was a fast riser.

Robinson is overrated. He's inconsistent and lacks a work ethic. I don't think he's even near round one. Mack and Unger are better guard prospects.

Minnesota already has a solid linebacking core. One of the most underrated in the league actually.

Miami is set at safety with Wilson and Bell.

Robert Ayers seems like a round one lock. I think he's a top 20 pick.

William Beatty and Eben Britton also seem like round one tackles. Chances are offensive lineman will go early in this draft because it's a strong o-line class. Last year, Sam Baker and Duane Brown went in round one for example.

Stick around the forum as discussion tends to pickup this time of the year.

Since a lot of the actual picks have been covered so far, I'll just correct you on a couple of explanations.

Jaguars traded Marcus Stroud last year, not John Henderson. Raji makes sense there, but it's not to replace Henderson.

Chad Greenway was a stud this season. He really picked up his game to a pro bowl level, even after EJ Henderson got hurt. He was believed by many to be a huge pro bowl snub this year. The Vikings LBs are very solid beyond depth needs, like porky said, they are the most underrated in the league. EJ Henderson and Greenway are both Pro Bowl caliber players and Leber is a very solid starter. No way do they draft Clay Matthews, who's better suited for a 3-4 defense anyways

I might be alone on this but I dont see the Jets drafting a QB. We heard last year that the Jets were high on Ratliff. This is Clemens last year under contract. I think those two plus a guy like Ainge will battle it out for the starting job.

I see the Jets either drafting a DE, WR, or even possibly another CB or RB in round 1. I dont see them going QB.

I dont see Malcom Jenkins dropping all the way to 21 like you have him. To many team would take him as either a CB or Safety.

Delmas may be the best safety in the draft but I dont like him in the first round and I dont like him to the Dolphins. The Dolphins resigned Bell and signed Gibril Wilson. There set at the safety posistion and have more pressing needs to adress like a CB and O-Line help.

Vontae Davis is another guy you have dropping to far IMO. The Ravens still are pretty solid at CB even after losing McAlister, Ivy, and Rolle. They signed Foxworth to start and still have Fabian Washington. They might want to look into getting another CB but not in the first round. I see them possibly looking for a LB now that Scott is gone and Lewis isnt getting any younger.

Heyward-Bey 7th overal I cant see but the fact that the team that picks 7th is the Raiders makes it a possibility. Davis likes the "sexy" pick and Heyward-Bey is that pick this year. I can buy it.

What about Vick to Seattle? I mean some team is going to give him a shot and him and Mora have a relationship. They did get to the NFC Title game together. Just a thought.

I think it's more likely he lands here than any NFL team
