Sophomore as the top pick?
I know most of you guys aren't thinking draft right now, but I always am.
This next draft season has the potential to be a very unique one in that there are three redshirt sophomores, who could enter the draft and be Top 5 picks. All three could be deemed worthy of the No. 1 pick overall.
Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford is the most likely right now. He's tall, has a big arm and is mobile enough to play in the NFL.
Then there's Texas Tech WR Michael Crabtree, who has an argument as being the greatest college WR ever seen. He's 6-3, 214 lbs. with 4.5 speed. His numbers are padded because of the system, but don't doubt his ability. Anyone who sees him play just once is easily convinced he is legit. I got to see him in Tech's spring game before his freshman season. I told everyone I watched the game with that he was going to have a great year. I didn't know he was going to be this special, though.
Finally, there's Georgia RB Knowshon Moreno, who had a ton of hype coming into the season, but it has died out for some reason -- probably because Georgia has fallen out of the national title picture for the time being. Moreno is the best back in the country. He's oozing with talent and and incredible love for the game.
It's early I know, but don't be surprised when April rolls around and one of these three players is the first overall pick.

I'm a big Knowshon Moreno fan (NJ represent!) and I'm also confused by his hype dying out. You would think 106 yards per game, 6 yards per carry and 11 TD's would be enough right? Maybe since he had probably his best game so far against Vanderbilt he will start to build steam again, especially if he puts on a show against LSU

I would not be surprised is one of them is the top pick, but I would be surprised if all 3 enter the draft. The Moreno hype died down when Georgia lsot to Bama and unless Georgia rallys to win the SEC or something I don;t think the Moreno hype gets back up, unless he has a couple of jsut unbeleivable perfromances, I think Moreno goes back to Georgia for his junior year.
I think Crabtree does come out and is def a top 5 pick. He is just ridculous, and will have the same level hype, if not more hype than Calvin Johnson. and plus the Lions may have the #1 pick so he may just go #1, oh wait nevermind Millen got fired LOL. But in all seriousness I would not be surprised is Crabtree ended up as the #1 pick.
The most interesting one is Bradford IMO. He is a "prototypical" NFL QB, physical stats-wise. And possible franchise "QB's" are usually the top pick in a draft. If the Lions were to get the #1 pick and Bradford continues to have a reat season I can see Bradford coming out to alot of hype and being picked by the Lions at 1 or 2. But if Bradford is not billed as one of the top QB and is not projected to be a top 5 pick I think he goes back to OK for a junior year.

Well the hype for Bradford at No. 1 is there already. Scouts Inc. with ESPN is ranking him as the top prospect so far.
Now, there is one QB in Bradford's conference I believe will compete with him as the top QB in the draft and right now, the hype for this guy as a top of the first round pick doesn't exist. I'm talking about Colt McCoy.
He's 6-3, 210, and runs a 4.5 40. Fantastic athlete, strong enough arm and he's completing 80 percent of his passes. I hate the University of Texas, but I'm definitely on the McCoy bandwagon. I rank Bradford ahead of him currently, but I do think of McCoy as a Top 5 pick right now.
Again, it's early, but you have to start somewhere with draft analysis.

I agree with this completely.
Crabtree is an absolute beast, and should come out this year. He will likely be considered one of the best WRs to come out in the history of the game, even better than the recently high profiled Calvin Johnson.
I don't think Moreno will come out this year however.
I feel bad for Bradford, and it will probably be best that he stays another year in college, considering it's looking like Detroit will be the most likely scenario for him to end up in.

So did Vince Young at the beginning of his senior season along with several others. Things change once talks of millions and a high draft pick start up.

Cubbs you know by reading my Heisman Watch that I've been hyping Bradford. I absolutely think he's going to be the top pick if he enters. I thought Matthew Stafford would be the guy to step up, but Bradford has been insanely good for OU.
He's every bit as good as any QB in college football right now. I think McCoy might be a better fit for the system he's in, but if I had the top pick, I'd take Bradford if giving the option of choosing between the two.
McCoy doesn't look 6'3 to me. I think he's more like 6'1 and I think that'll be a knock against him. I think probably mid to late 1st round pick.
I like Crabtree a lot. I think he's another Larry Fitzgerald. He might be slow, but he does everything else incrediable.
I'm big on Moreno too. He was one of the backs I was talking about maybe the Packers would look at. Beanie Wells is also going to be a nice pro in my opinion. I think he projects to the NFL well with his blend of size and speed. Tough player too.
I like Malcom Jenkins, Rey Maualuga, James Laurinaitis, Michael Oher, Matthew Stafford, Tim Tebow, Greg Hardy, and Michael Johnson.
I think this is going to be a heck of a draft or has the potential to be depending who comes out.

I have one huge concern with Beanie Wells. The kid is terribly injury prone. He's tough, sure, but he's hurt all the time and some of the injuries have been mysterious like the foot ailment he had earlier this season. There's no denying his talent, but I'd take another third-year sophomore over him right now -- Pitt's LeSean McCoy.

this sounds familiar another rb that came out a few years back, dropping out of the top 5 because of injuries.
Oh right, that was Adrian Peterson, arguably the best Rb in the league.
