Pro Day results
The Pro Day season has begun so we might as well have a thread where results of each one can be posted.
Several have already happened, including Miami's. I'm getting the results of them and will post each one in a new post as I get them.

University of Miami, Fla.
Calais Campbell had a very disappointing combine and didn't redeem himself at his pro day. The Pro Day definitely happened too close to the combine for him to really improve, but it showed that the Combine wasn't an exception. He ran about the same and lifted the same according to scouts.
Also unimpressive was Kenny Phillips. Phillips ran in the mid-4.5's at the combine and was stiff in his backpedal according to most scouting reports. Phillips has dropped, but he's probably still a first round pick because of the lack of quality safeties in this draft class. The best safeties in this class might be guys who played CB their last season in college like Oklahoma's Reggie Smith, South Florida's Mike Jenkins and USC's Terrell Thomas.
The most impressive athlete at Miami's Pro Day was MLB Tavares Gooden, who some scouts recorded in the 4.4 range in his 40. He's shown himself to be athletic and versatile. There are injury concerns, though. If he can prove himself to be healthy, then he's a possible second round pick.
Kyle Wright also impressed. He caught my eye at the combine, showing a very live arm. His accuracy is noted as well. He struggled at Miami, but I see him as a late round pick.
Official times recorded at the Pro Day:
40-yard dash
Gooden - 4.53
C Derrick Morse - 5.22
Bench reps
Morse - 24
Vertical Jump
Gooden - 39
Morse - 27.5
10-yard times (first 10 yards of a 40)
Darnell Jenkins - 1.49
Gooden - 1.52
Morse - 1.75

One thing Kenny Phillips has going for him is it's an extremely weak safety class this year. Reggie Smith is probably #1 but he's a FS and DRC is also capable of being a FS but Phillips is the best SS so a team picking in the 20 to 31 range this year will probably reach for him because of that need. I never really had him as a top 20 pick so to me he did what he was expected. My hunch of Phillips might end up being right.

Reggie Smith is a proven SS. He played the position as a sophomore and hasn't lined up as a FS.

A few other pro days have occurred already, but none of them had the impact that Toledo's did. One player I love from Toledo is TE Chris Hopkins. He's very athletic with prototypical size for his position. He might not get drafted, but I think he'll be a great undrafted FA for some team.
Here's some numbers from Toledo.
40-yard dash
CB Andrew Hawkins - 4.34
SS Greg Hay, 4.49
WR David Washington, 4.56
TE Chris Hopkins, 4.78
DT Tyree Pollard, 4.97
OT John Greco, 5.16
OG David Perkins, 5.34
Bench Reps
Pollard, 23
Perkins, 23
Hopkins, 19
Washinton, 10
Hawkins, 9
Vertical Jump
RB Jalen Parmele, 41.5
Hawkins, 38
Washington, 37
Hopkins, 35
Greco, 32
Hay, 32
Perkins, 27
Pollard, 26
20-yard shuttle
Hawkins, 4.03
Hay, 4.04
Washington, 4.36
Perkins, 4.87
First 10 yards of a 40
Hawkins, 1.53
Washington, 1.55
Hay, 1.56
Hopkins, 1.62
Pollard, 1.64
Greco, 1.70
Perkins, 1.85
3-Cone
Hawkins, 6.81
Hay, 6.91
Washington, 6.91
Perkins, 8.06

Yeah I just read that. I stand corrected then, though reading up on Smith and watching him I think he could play any defensive back position. None the less my point was that Kenny Phillips could benefit from a weak safety class.

I agree about Phillips benefiting. I think he could still end up in the top 20. I thought I said that in my original post, but if I didn't, then I meant to. I can't see Phillips slipping out of the first. Worst case scenario, Giants at 32. Be a great replacement for Gibril Wilson.

I watched Phillips at the combine. I think his only chance of staying in round 1 is if the Giants reach for him because of need

I don't see it that way at all. It would be absolutely surprising to see him fall out. He's still the elite safety in this class, which says a ton about the other safeties available. Although, I do like Craig Steltz and Quintin Demps enough to see them as late second round picks. I think Washington could reach for Phillips. I can't see him going much higher than that, though.

Safety has become a valuable position more so now than ever so that will probably factor in. I think the Giants would likely take him at the end of round 1 if he's there.
He wouldn't rank in my top 25 players overall though.
