2008 NFL Combine
Someone sticky this.
I'll post results I get and make some observations as well. I encourage others to do the same.
Already noteworthy is some of the guys announcing they won't run at the combine.
Malcolm Kelly has said he won't run. I'm sure there will be others.
TEs, OL and special teams start Saturday. They'll weigh in and lift weights Friday.
Sunday - QB, RB, FB, WR
Monday - DL, LB
Tuesday - DBs

Glenn Dorsey is going to miss the combine completely due to a death in the family.

Falcons win the coin toss. They'll pick 3rd, followed by Oakland at 4 and Kansas City at 5.

Just some notes from the OL and TE performances...
TEs
Two guys stood out to me -- Dustin Keller and Brad Cottam. Without a doubt, they had the most impressive performances. Unfortunately, both have huge red flags too.
Keller - Keller was near or at the top of the leaderboard at each drill. He ran a 4.55, repped 26 on the bench and had a 38 vertical. No doubt about his athleticism. He's only 6'2, 245 lbs., though, and there will be teams that won't take him just because of his size. I still think a team will look past his size and grab him during the first day based on his athleticism and production. Might get used more as an H-back in the NFL.
Cottam - He's 6'7 1/2 and 270 lbs., but runs a 4.63 40 and had a 33 VJ. He did 24 reps on the bench press, despite having very long arms. Cottam was very impressive a the Senior Bowl. I could see him going as high as the second round if a team looks past his injury problems. The only reason his name is coming up just lately is because he spent most of his career at Tennessee with injuries.
Other TE notes... Kellen Davis is a big body with a lot of athletic ability... Jacob Tamme was the third most athletic combine after Cottam and Keller... Craig Stevens was also impressive in his drills, but he doesn't have great hands... Martellus Bennett's speed was questioned before the combine, but he laid those inquiries to rest. He ran a 4.68... Jermichael Finley should've stayed at Texas. He ran a 4.82 and didn't look fluid in any other drill... Quietly, Tom Santi had a very impressive performance. Santi was a centerpiece of Virginia's offense and is a decent blocker for his size.
OL
Mike Pollack and Jeremy Zuttah were the most athletic guys. Duane Brown wasn't far behind. All three upped their draft stock.
Jake Long was the strongest OL, repping 37 bench presses.
Gosder Cherilus ran a 5.21, but didn't look good in any of the drills I saw him in. His inconsistency continues to show. No doubt about his ability and potential. Tons of questions about his consistency.
I still don't see a 1st round OG in the draft after the combine. I've seen Chilo Rachal thrown in the first by Kiper... disagree. I've seen Branden Albert rated that high... disagree. Mike Gibson was the most impressive OG at the combine. I had him in the seventh round. I think he could go in the 4th or 5th now. Heath Benedict look good, too. Very explosive.
Pollack had the best center performance. Cody Wallace was second. He was very explosive. Technique is bad, though.

After Desean Jackson came in at what 5'9, 169 I was happy to see him run a 4.31, that should help his stock come back up. Manningham was kinda disappointing with his 40, a 4.59 I believe was his top time, speed and quickness is supposed to be his big asset and that 40 time definately hurts. Hopefully he can run better at Michigan's pro day.
