Default Changes To The Draft

"The time between picks in the first round will be cut from 15 minutes to 10 to help speed up a process that went a record 6 hours and 8 minutes last April.

Starting time was also moved from noon EDT to 3 p.m. for the first day, which will be limited to two rounds instead of three"

I like the 10 minutes between picks instead of 15. I'm not really a big fan of having it start at 3 and only doing the first 2 rounds on day 1

yeah this is a welcome and much needed change. Makes the flow of the draft much smoother.

I'd rather have the 3 rounds on day 1 starting at noon. But I like the change from 15 to 10 and 10 to 7.

Definitely the 10 min instead of 15 is a huge improvement, i taking a shower and coming out and it was still on the same pick. I also like it starting later, considering its on a saturday, don't have to force myself out of my drunken sleep to early lol.

the 2 rounds in the first day is the only one I'm on the fence on. It does make sense somewhat. It should attract a few more viewers to the second day, and should create a lil more hype about 3rd round players, because in the old format, the day goes on for so long, by the third round it's hard to pay attention. But the third round being the start of the second day, it'll be a lot more interesting to see who gets taken

That Sunday of round 3-7th is gonna be one of the biggest days of the year... those rounds are the players you can get for little salaries... teams get good by drafting in those rounds.. and they are all cramped into one day~! ooof

I agree. I like the shorter rounds, but why start it at 3pm instead of 12pm? I live on the west coast and I don't mind it starting at 9am. I really don't like the idea of only doing the first 2 rounds on day 1. Changes the whole idea of a first day draft pick. I don't think that is going to stick, it'll be back to normal in 2009.

Starting at 3 pm is just going to make the 1st round over at about the same time as last year. The 10 minutes is an extremely good change, but the 3 hour delayed start is pointless.
