Default Broncos Trading Up?

John Clayton reports that the Broncos made several calls to other teams to talk about trading up yesterday. They're said to want to move up about 10 picks. I think that Pat Willis would have to be a guy they'd want to get if they pulled this trade off. Clayton mentioned that they are also interested in Okoye and Adam Carriker.

They've already offered Det their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in this draft and their 1st next year for the #2 overall, contingent that CJ is still there.

With that said, any of those players would be huge for them. Okoye and Carriker could give their DL some stability and players not from Cleveland. Willis could instantly step in and be a beast when teamed with Williams and Gold. Denver is really looking like they want to win now (one more hurrah before Shannahan goes out?)

I wonder if this does any damage to their long term.

that's a pretty nice offer for detroit but that may move them down more than they would like this year

John Clayton actually killed that trade up to #2 rumor in his report. He says the reality of it is that they want to move up to 11 or 12. He also said that most of the offers they made were just a bit short, but good enough to draw consideration. I won't be surprised at all if Shanahan pushes his way up into the 1st round again just like last year.

I think I called this back in February.

I remember writing that they would try and trade up. It's really not shocking because that's what Mike Shanahan does the most. If Anderson slips then I think a trade between the Packers and Broncos is very likely. I know the Pack would like to move down and snag Lynch instead of taking him at 16.

yeah, i read of this report acouple days ago too...

i think its very possible a move is made, especially since denver got a third rounder from the lelie deal which is pretty much a bonus pick considering lelie wasnt worth that

pat willis and hopefully Jamaal Anderson are their in the 11 area

I've been hearing Denver's wants to trade up ahead of San Fransisco to get Willis. Houston has been the team that's popped up the most.

Denver has stated they will not take Pat Willis if they trade up. They signed Warrick Holdman and in doing so, told him that they would not take a LB in the 1st round. This from ESPN Insider. The target is likely Carriker or Okoye.
