Running back

Shonn Greene, Jets
A talented rookie out of Iowa, Greene had 19 carries for 144 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-0 win over the Raiders on Sunday. Thomas Jones will still be the feature running back, but the injury to Leon Washington, who is likely out for the season with a fractured fibula, opens the door for Greene, who entered Sunday with just seven carries on the year. The Jets host the Dolphins this weekend.
Rating: 4

Wide Receiver

Miles Austin, Cowboys
With six catches, 171 yards and two scores, the undrafted 25-year-old just put together on Sunday the best two-game stretch by any player in fantasy football this season: 16 catches, 421 yards and four touchdowns. I admit I was a bit skeptical regarding Austin’s big day against Kansas City in Week 5, but with two monster games back-to-back, the former Monmouth star is quickly becoming the real deal. He’s a must-start when Dallas hosts Seattle this Sunday.
Rating: 5

Hakeem Nicks, Giants
Make it four straight games with a touchdown. He also had four catches for 80 yards. If he’s still a free agent, act now; you can still get him in the Nicks of time. Man, I am lame. The Giants travel to Philadelphia this weekend.
Rating: 4.5

Quarterback

Alex Smith, 49ers
Smith performed decently enough in his season debut against Houston on Sunday: 15-of-22 passing for 206 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Now that Michael Crabtree has decided to not be a (insert expletive or derogatory slang term here), Smith should have some solid targets at his disposal. San Fran plays at Indy this weekend.
Rating: 3

Tight End
Vernon Davis, 49ers
Yeah, one of Smith’s “solid” targets? That’d be Davis, who had three touchdowns on Sunday. He won’t do that again in his career, but three scores in one day should earn you a starting spot in fantasy land.
Rating: 4.5

Kicker
Jason Hanson, Lions
Dude’s playing the Rams next week. Need I say more?
Rating: 5

Defense
San Diego Chargers
Still available in 42 percent of Yahoo leagues, the Chargers host offensively inept Oakland this weekend.
Rating: 4.5
