For all intents and purposes, Trent Edwards belongs at the bottom of this list. It’s no secret that the addition of Terrell Owens instantly makes him a better QB but one also has to consider that this will be his third season which means it’s put-up of shut-up time for Edwards. I’m not even going to list his 08-09 stats here because frankly A) they suck and B) they don’t really matter this season. The suspension of Marshawn Lynch certainly hurts him as defenses will focus on the passing game instead of the running game but when you have T.O., Roscoe Parrish and Lee Evans jumping for balls, things get a little more comfortable.
I’m not saying that Trent will be good this season, but I do believe that he should be a heck of a lot better than what he has been over the past two seasons – which is saying a whole lot but it’s a start. Draft Edwards for his potential but never forget what happened to Randy Moss when he went to the Raiders (A great receiver can’t make a truly cruddy QB better).
