Our Take on Matt Schaub
by Skipster McNernie |
I will whole-heartedly admit that Matt Schuab at #8 might be a stretch but I’m okay with this. Whether you agree with my decision or not, you have to admit that the Texans are a young, exciting, offensive-minded team. With Steve Slaton running the crap out of the ball, Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter are open in the secondary. Who’s going to throw it to them? Schuab…that’s who. An improving offensive line and some legitimate young weapons, Schaub might be on the cusp of fulfilling the role he was brought to Texas to do 2 seasons ago.
Of course I have no proof of this. In fact, Schuab has yet to have a season where he plays 16 full games which kind of makes him an injury liability. That and the Texans brought in Rex Grossman this offseason which could end in a QB controversy if Matt has trouble in the beginning of the season. However, for shear upside, Schuab is the man of the draft.
