David Garrard was a mixed bag last season. Considering that 08-09 was his first full season as a starter, Garrard’s 3,600 yards was a career high by more than 1,000 yards and the 15TDs he threw was the second best of his career. Pretty good right? By contrast to his 15TDs, he had 13 INTs and a QB rating in the low 80s. Kind of yin and yang if you ask me. But like I said, it was his first season as a started for all 16 games and when Matt Jones is your leading receiver with an enormous 761 yards, things could improve.
In one of the best offseason signings, the Jaguars snagged Tory Holt, instantly making Garrard’s shaky season a distant memory. At age 33, Holt still has plenty in the tank and has the experience to help Garrard in every facet of his game. Look for Garrard to rebound this season as Holt and Jones-Drew snag his passes all season long
