  17. San Francisco 49ers -
Chiefs have huge need at offensive tackle. they may package the extra picks they got from the Vikings to move up to make sure they get the tackle they want. Hard to imagine that they would pass on Williams. He's already worked out for them and they liked what they saw. 6-6 315 5.17.
  18. Pittsburgh Steelers -
Texans may move up. He is not the most Athletic (as shown by combine numbers that weren't great) but he is big and nasty and may be able to play guard as well. 6-57/8 323 5.28
  19. Atlanta Falcons -
At 6'2", 215 and having excellent speed, his only downfall is he was slow to learn Michigan State's offense. Expect that again at the next level. 6-17/8 216 4.40 Eagles need a physical presence opposite Kevin Curtis. Also returne dkicks in college.
  20. Houston Texans -
Sweed is a big physical target with very good speed. Dynamic body build. His only downside is a history of injuries. Eventual successor to Joey Galloway at wideout. 6-37/8 215 4.52
  21. Cincinnati Bengals -
The best safety in the draft left at pick #21 is to good to pass up for the Redskins. very good size with excellent speed, he stood out on one of the worst Miami teams in years. He should go higher but the teams picking earlier don't have big needs at safety. Tragic death of Sean Taylor leaves a hole at safety. 6-21/4 212 4.55
  22. New England Patriots -
Talib should be an ideal pick for the Boys if he's still available. Even with the Cowboys acquiring Pacman Jones, they will still make cornerback a priority. Good speed, good height, and to good to pass up at 20. Update: Has admitted to testing positive for marijuana three times in college. 6-03/4 202 4.45
  23. Green Bay Packers -
Steelers need to replace Alan Faneca at Guard. If the best guard in the draft is available (He is versatile enough to play tackle) this pick will be a slam dunk! Albert has risen big time in the last couple of weeks and may need to be moved up the list! In this mock draft, I have the Steelers trading up to #14 with the Bears. Albert is unlikely to be available at #23. 6-55/8 309 5.17
  24. Philadelphia Eagles -
Titan will use mammoth Hardy as huge red zone target. Can anyone put up numbers with Vince Young at QB. Hardy has some domestic violence history. Titans hope he stays straight. 6-53/8 217 4.51
  25. Baltimore Ravens -
The only reason Merling falls this far is the hernia surgery he had in the offseason. A better team can afford the risk at pick 25. He is a premier run stuffing DE, and would be better suited to left end. 6-41/4 276 4.85
  26. Arizona Cardinals -
Trading Marcus Stroud leaves an opening here for a DT, and Balmer is the best guy left by quite a bit. The Jags wont miss a beat with this guy. 6-41/2 308 5.28
  27. Dallas Cowboys -
Manningham had a horrible combine and reportedly didn't even interview well. Has character issues. Failed some drugs tests in school and reportedly wouldn't own up to it. On his pro day his numbers improved quite a bit, enough to bring him back into the back half of the last round. If there is a team that can take best player available it is the talent rich Chargers.
  28. San Diego Chargers -
SPEED, SPEED, SPEED. Automatically is their kick returner and would be a great alternative to the power of Marion Barber. Replaces Julius Jones who left in free agency. May eventually develop into the best third down back in the NFL.SPEED,SPEED, SPEED. 5-11 197 4.24
  29. New York Jets -
He may actually go higher than this, many teams seem to like him. Great route runner, as LSU guys usually are. Question is not very good speed. See Josh Reed from the Bills, LSU with great college numbers and similar size, but his game at the NFL level is mediocre at best. I still think the production will get him drafted this high. Bryant Johnson is only signed for one year. 6-01/8 209 4.59
  30. Minnesota Vikings -
Fast riser was best USC lineman and The Pack can use another top blocker for Aaron Rodgers. Packers Chad Clifton is 31 and their other tackles are borderline talents. Strong as an ox and mean! 6-45/8 309 5.50
  31. Indianapolis Colts -
Giants lost 2 LB's to free agency and will rebuild with prototypical Penn State LB. He plays very low and is very good at shedding blockers who appear to have him under control. He appears to have answered character questions. 6-3 233 4.67
  32. New Orleans Saints -
Workout warrior with great athletic ability. Similar to Chris Long in that he played DE in college, and teams are looking at both of them has hybrid DE/LB's. If Miami doesn't take C. Long in the 1st round look for Groves in round 2. Groves had surgery in March to repair an irregular heartbeat, it isn't supposed to affect his draft status. 6-3 259 4.57
