While an offensive lineman would be the better pick here, the Lions took Gosder Cherilus last year and I don't think they would take another OT with their first pick. While Stafford hasn't been the most impressive college quarterback he has the measurables and looks to be the best current prospect.

The Rams desperately wanted to get their hands on Jake Long last year. They are salavating over the possiblity of choosing the OT prospect of their choice this year. With Smith this year, and Long and Carriker the past two years, the Rams look to be building a solid team through the trenches.

The Chiefs suffered a monsterous loss when they traded away Jared Allen, and were not able to fill it this year as Tamba Hali struggled and the rest of the players on the defensive line did as well. The addition of Orakpo will put Hali back at left end and will certainly help the growth of last year's pick Glenn Dorsey.

The Bengals struggled mightly on defense this past year, and no place more than at linebacker. While Keith Rivers was a bright spot, nobody else offered any kind of promise or even help at the position. The addition of Maualuga will give the Bengals a dynamic USC linebacking corps that will give the defense an identity.

There was no position that hurt the Seahawks more in 2008 than at wide reciever, which saw players like Michael Bumpus, Koren Robinson, and Keary Colbert get significant playing time. The addition of Crabtree alongside a healthy Nate Burleson and Deion Branch will make the Seahawks passing game dynamic once again.

The offensive overhaul continues in Oakland, where previous picks JaMarcus Russell, Darren McFadden, and now Oher will continue the major rebuilding process this team needs. Oher will provide solid protection for Russell while giving McFadden a big body to run behind.

After trading away Leigh Bodden in order to get Shaun Rogers, the Browns never filled the void left. Malcom Jenkins brings playmaking ability and big game experience to the Browns, who look to easily get Jenkins if they want him, as none of the other previous teams need a cornerback as bad as other positions.
  8. -
This may be a little high for Laurinaitis, but the Jaguars can afford to reach here to replace Mike Peterson. Laurinaitis teamed with Daryl Smith and Clint Ingram will give the Jaguars a solid linebacking corps, which they need to contend in the tough AFC South.

*This Pick is Terrence Cody, DT, Alabama* The Packers porous run defense is one of the many things that made them a third place NFC North team compared to a team with home field in the NFC Championship Game a year ago. The Pack felt the loss of Corey Williams this season, along with the continued struggles of Justin Harrell. Cody would team with Johnny Jolly, Ryan Pickett, and Colin Cole to plug the run. A rotation of those four men would be dominant in a division with Adrian Peterson and Matt Forte, and would making running the ball against them about as difficult as running against the Williams wall from Minnesota.

While Sam Bradford doesn't exactly play in a pro style offense at Oklahoma, there is no denying his talent and the numbers he put up the past year. With Alex Smith still in the mind of the 49ers brass, this could be a risky call by them. But Bradford has the mental makeup and stature that Smith did not, along with the confidence Smith lacked. A year under Shaun Hill would be enough to get him acclimated to the NFL offense, and he would be ready to star in 2010.

The whole Chris Kelsay, Ryan Denney experiment in Buffalo has run the end of the course, and the Bills need to infuse more talent on the defensive line. The addition of Stroud last year and Johnson this year will provide two big playmakers up front for the Bills.

Houston's safties have been nothing to write home about this year, as C.C. Brown, Glenn Earl, and Will Demps have been less than adequate. Taylor Mays is one of the best safety prospects to come out of college in a long time. The combo of speed and hard hitting power Mays possesses is very rare for a safety and the Texans would be stupid to not jump all over him if he fell to pick number 12.
  13. -
The Chargers grind their teeth as the man they targeted comes off the board one pick before them. However, the talented William Moore is still available and San Diego snatches him before another team with a safety need(Denver,New Orleans,Philadelphia) can get him. Moore will help solidify a secondary that would now include Moore, Eric Weddle, and Clinton Hart at safety, along with Antonio Cromartie, Quentin Jammer, and Antone Cason at cornerback.
  14. -
The Broncos need another playmaking linebacker to match with D.J. Williams. Aaron Curry might be the most NFL ready linebacker in the '09 draft and while a safety would've been great for Denver to get, Curry will provide instant impact on a horrible defense.

The Saints hope they finally find a big time player at cornerback with this pick, as they pass up Beanie Wells and Knowshon Moreno for Davis. The additions of Mike McKenzie, Jason David, Randall Gay, and more haven't worked out, and Vontae Davis will finally give them the star they need. A tandem of Davis, McKenzie, and last year's 2nd rounder Tracy Porter will give the Saints a quality secondary.
  16. -
The Redskins pick is hard to figure out, as they seem well off at most positions, but adding B.J. Raji to a defensive line that already has Cornelius Griffin, Andre Carter, and Jason Taylor is too good an opportunity to pass up.
