This draft was actually pretty hard to make. There were quite a few instances where I had a tough time deciding between two or three prospects. This was one of those instances. The Dolphins really want to trade down but I don't really see that happening. I really can't see them getting much value for the number one pick this year since most of the top five to ten players could be picked anywhere in that range. Teams aren't going to need the number one pick to get some of the best players. The Dolphins' offensive line hasn't actually been that bad, so I don't think they'll go with Jake Long here. Therefore, I think The Dolphins will end up picking Chris Long. While Glenn Dorsey is probably a better player, Long is definitely one of the top 3-5 players available this year and Dorsey isn't a good fit for the 3-4 the Dolphins will try to run next year, plus his injuries are starting to concern some. Long is a phenomenal defensive end who would fit perfectly in the 3-4 scheme. He's got a great motor, is solid against both the run and the pass, and has a great combination of size, power, and quickness. If Bill Parcells isn't content with John Beck at QB, Matt Ryan definitely deserves to be in this conversation as well.

The Rams are in a great spot here. No matter what happens, they can really help themselves by picking up a dominant lineman. I've had them taking a defensive player here for a while, but I think Glenn Dorsey’s injury concerns and Jake Long’s combine performance have been big enough factors to cause a change here. The Rams are a perfect example of a team with good skill position players who did absolutely nothing on offense thanks to a bad offensive line. Alex Barron is solidly entrenched at right tackle, but Orlando Pace hasn’t played much in the past few years and even if he’s healthy again next year, he’s old. Long has a big frame, good mobility, and loads of experience. He's a solid blocker and could immediately step in as a starter. He’s really a physical specimen, and he’s big but not around the waist. With good quickness and strength, he grades out just a little below where Joe Thomas was last season.

The Falcons desperately need an offensive centerpiece, and whether that be at running back or quarterback they're in a good spot here. Winning the coin toss with the Raiders and Chiefs makes this a harder decision since the best running back and quarterback will both probably still be on the board. I really think, looking at what AD and the Vikings did last year, that the Falcons will take McFadden because a running back can contribute so much more quickly than a quarterback can. Plus, it looks like there will be a lot of good quarterbacks available in the second round. McFadden is just an all around beast. He showed his freakish athleticism at the combine, but he’s not one of those guys whose stock shoots up just because of his athletic performance. He’s a two-time Heisman runner-up, so you know he’s not a one year wonder. At Arkansas he showed that he could do anything you’d ask a running back to do, whether that be run, block, or receive, and he’d immediately be the star of this team and would start drawing fans back for the Falcons. His only real concerns are his character and his weight for being a tall back, and the character concerns will be something a team like the Falcons will look into. However, I think he’s just too good of a prospect to pass up. Matt Ryan is definitely a possibility here but for right now McFadden is just too good of a value.

The Raiders just signed Tommy Kelly to the biggest contract a defensive tackle has ever received, but I don’t think that will stop them from taking Glenn Dorsey if he falls this far. Dorsey's had some injury concerns and some of the other prospects have been gaining ground on him but that's really all that can happen when you're the number one defensive player. He absolutely dominates the line of scrimmage and is comparable to Warren Sapp. Dorsey can play against the run and the pass and is a force to be reckoned with. The Raiders’ defensive problems stem from a poor defensive line, and with Dorsey in the trenches those problems could likely come to an end. Sedrick Ellis is also a possibility here as he is a better fit for their defense, as is Vernon Gholston.

The Chiefs are in a good spot here as Jake Long has a decent chance of falling to them. If he doesn’t, though, Ryan Clady will still be available, and as shown in last year’s draft, a lot of teams will pick for need rather than value. While undeniably a little high for Clady, he’s an All-American with a great combination of size and athleticism who can definitely play left tackle in the league. He’s for sure a top ten pick, and if the Chiefs really want to get the best possible value, they could maybe trade down a few spots and pick Clady up later.

The Jets could be interested in a quarterback here since it's a big reason why they're picking this high, but I think their defense is too bad not to address with this high of a pick. Plus, there should be a couple good quarterbacks who will be there in the second round. If the team really isn’t happy with Kellen Clemens though and Matt Ryan is still on the board, they would snatch him up in a heartbeat. It all just comes down to with how comfortable they are with Clemens. It just so happens that Vernon Gholston is about perfect value right here and would fit in great with the Jets' 3-4 defense. Gholston has a great combination of size, strength, and speed, and can excel in a role as an outside pass rusher. If the Jets lose Jonathon Vilma, which they probably will, they’ll need some more help in the linebacking corps, making this pick even more likely.

The Patriots have a ton of options with this pick. If Ryan Clady is still here, they could take him and solidify the offensive line, or they could trade down to pick up a 3-4 linebacker. They could also hope Vernon Gholston falls to them, or they could take the corner who has shown that he probably is worthy of being a top ten pick. McKelvin is one of the guys who has impressed the most at the Senior Bowl and combine and has boosted his stock up this high with those performances. He's a little small, but he's fast, fluid, and a solid corner overall, not to mention the best in this draft. He's also a solid returner and would be able to step in for Asante Samuel should he not return.

I can't believe that this will happen, but if it does, the Ravens will turn in their selection immediately after the Patriots' pick is announced. Ryan is way too good to drop this far, but aside from the Falcons and possibly the Jets and Chiefs, who both have tons of needs, there aren't any other teams who will go with him. He probably will never be a John Elway but he's got a great chance of turning into a solid quarterback in the NFL. His intangibles are top notch and he has everything physically that you look for in a great quarterback. He's intelligent, reads defenses well, is accurate with his throws, is tough, and has a great work ethic. If the defense can stay together another few years, the Ravens might end up being a good enough team to take a shot at the Super Bowl a couple years from now.

This is an absolute steal for the Bengals, who have needed an interior D-lineman for a while now. Ellis has been phenomenal at the Senior Bowl and combine, playing out of his mind, and should be a top 5 pick. He anchored one of the nation's best defenses at USC and allowed his linebackers to make plays. He's got good size, power, and no character concerns, which is a huge plus for the Bengals. He can also provide some pressure in the middle of the line. Ellis would be a fine compliment to Domata Peko.

| The Saints desperately need to improve their defense, especially the linebacking corps and at cornerback, where they have a bunch of journeymen and no real studs. Although undersized, Rivers' speed, tenacity, and coverage abilities make up for his lack of size. He can tackle well, is instinctive, and would fit into the Saints' defense well. His addition would upgrade the Saints' defense tremendously.

The Bills need to pick up an outside linebacker, a wide receiver, and a cornerback in this year's draft, and luckily for them this draft has quite a few of each. I know this is a little bit high for Kelly, but I’m convinced that if he runs well at his pro day he’ll probably be the number one corner on the board. He’s got great size, good speed, and good hands. While DeSean Jackson has a higher upside, Kelly would be a better compliment to Lee Evans and would provide Trent Edwards with a pair of solid receivers for a long time. If Keith Rivers or McKelvin is still here, they’d probably go with one of them.
